And pray tell, what shirts were they wearing tonight? They need to pile up those shitty gray things and burn them up.
I understand all too well that this is no reason to believe that the season can be resurrected. And yet I'll be watching the New England game with renewed hope, thinking that maybe this team can get healthy and peak at the right time, which is what a team has to do to win the Cup in this league. But that's just what sports have always done to my otherwise keenly analytical and realistic brain. Or something. But really I'm just thrilled that we weren't the team against whom the pelotas rojas could cure their pathetic road woes. It was getting really tiresome being that team. Berry's goal ranks right up there with that glorious stoppage time goal at their stadium by Meram and Balchan. I'd love more moments like that from this season. But at the moment I'll settle for this one. This calls for more beer than usual.
Berry is freakin amazing. He almost made the frustration of watching players like Etienne and Afful fu*k up everytime they touched the ball worth the frustration. 3 points for The Crew and a grouchy point for me.
Been high on matan since the start of the season. He is the only crew player I ran into in public. He can do things. I really liked how Lucas moved out wide when matan came on. Lucas was exhausted, so he created space for matan to operate. Matan tried too hard at times but then did something great. Salaam and afful set up matan and berry's dribbles. Berry had a great pass to Lucas then a dribble before slotting it home.
I would ask the same of Diaz who people on here laud despite being built like a linebacker and playing with the toughness of a figure skater. He reinjured his shoulder again tonight on an obvious dive. Matan has obvious physical limitations but he's one of the few this year who works his ass off every game and tries to fight through challenges instead of begging for a call.
I do not know if this got answered, but the Jackets have one--I've used it. But there are limitations. You usually can't transfer in to a game vs the Pens, for example.
That didn't age well.... I was really impressed with Berry's footwork in the box on that goal. We had a really good view of it from 208.
One humorous point I'll note. Pregame, the end of both ribbon boards between the upper and lower deck on the sides has a closed caption transcript. That partly blocked the other items displayed. One was pretty funny. Instead of "Hispanic Heritage Night" it read "Panic Heritage Night"--which was somewhat appropriate given our playoff standing.
The upperdecke area is the best kept secret in the stadium. No lines for the bathroom or beer. Just get a food vendor up there and it will be perfect.
