Columbus Crew SC vs Bridgeview Fire SC MLS Regular Season Match - Saturday, August 12 07:30 PM - Mapfre Stadium Broadcast: BCSN2, CW Columbus, Spectrum Sports, CD102.5, La Mega 103.1, ColumbusCrewSC.com, MLS Live Links: MLS Match Center The Crew return to the friendly confines of the 'Fre with hopes (hahahaha!) of putting out the offensive juggernaut that is the Fire (wut?!). Come for the goals. Stay for the embarrassing defeat!
I don't know how the Crew can win without Finlay. Someone else will have to step up and miss some shots.
Good luck Ethan. Ethan reminds me of the stereotypical British player, all pace and power, lots of running with less technical skill, but loads of heart. He'll fit well into Heath's system. Having Ramirez as a more traditional target forward should work well for Ethan. Ramirez, Finlay, Molino, and Ibarra/Vanegas is a decent front four.
I saw this on Facebook. Money goes to National Parkinson's Foundation Ohio. "We have Crew Tickets available for Saturday August 12th's game against the Chicago Fire for just $10! 100% of proceeds go to Moving Day (r) Columbus. Email JMathews@parkinson.org or call 614-890-1901 and ask for Jennifer."
If Mensah plays its a lose otherwise a lucky tie. If Pipa plays, how sharp will he be? About as sharp as a bag of wet mice.
My head screams lose by two or more. Santos is not here yet & Finlay is out, so Manneh will start. Likely we see 343 with Pipa out. Afful also doubtful. No threats wide + no threats fron CM leaves the top 3 isolated. Dax & Schweiny boss the midfield & Accam runs past Raitala and/or Jimenez like they are traffic cones. 3-0 Fire. My heart says: PISS ON THE FIRE ANYWAY! Pipa & Afful play. Francis starts for pace. Mensah's clumsiness pays off as he clatters into little piggy, rendering him ineffective, while only seeing yellow. We don't get pinned back & luck into a 2-1 win as Ola is not wasteful & Artur scores from range.
Aw look Bridgeview fans feel good about themselves again. That is so sweet. https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2017...house-east-trip-clb-marks-new-jubilant-period
This game starts a string of 6 out of 8 games at home. It's a tough match for sure, and we are shorthanded for sure. But at some point we need to get points out of these tough games. Orlando, Philly, Montreal and New England have at least a game in hand on us. We have to face our closest competitor in the standings (Orlando) two times on the road before the season ends. The Red Bulls just signed Dilly Duka for the rest of the season, so they are virtually un-catchable. I feel oddly confident about this one. I think that despite Ethan being sent away and Pipa acting out there is probably some good vibes in the locker room. I think there is excitement about Santos and ownership ponying up. I think the players are buoyed by a Craft Beer Bundle loving crowd. I think we are almost completely outplayed in every aspect, but Steffen stands on his head and we earn a very important draw.
I'm worried. Hull wins, I get to laugh at Chelsea, Oktoberfest beers are on the shelf and my chocolate coconut cake turned out perfect. I can't have a full day of greatness, can I?
so I'm hearing Starting : Gk Steffen Lb Francis Rb Afful Lcb Abubakar Cb Crognale Rcb Mensah ( this means we will not win) Artur Trapp Meram Manneh Ola
