good guys by at least 1. Pink Cows seem to be coming back to reality and we will kick ass after that performance Sat against the goatgirls
We might see a lineup like no other this week. With the match on Sunday, no Marshall/Rogers and possibly no GBS if he is suspended then I would expect Ekpo/Renteria/Garey to see a ton of time.
Why is the only place where I have heard about a GBS suspension on these boards from Missionary and now you?
And me, on the post-game thread. And Dwight, on the telecast. It's thoroughly possible. Frankly, I think this might be the match where our unbeaten record crashes down. NYRB are off to a good start, are coming off a tough 1-0 loss to a late Seattle goal, and should be getting a boost from a good crowd on national TV. Losing Rogers could wind up helping in the long term if it allows other people to find their form, but it might be tough to adjust in the short term -- especially it GBS isn't available. And Marshall not being there could hurt a little as well.
Teams New York has beat: Chicago Seattle Dallas Philadelphia DC Teams that have beat New York: Chivas San Jose Seattle New York's been solid this year, no doubt. However, I think they may not be quite as good as their top of the conference record indicates. They seem to have benefited from playing teams who may not have been in good form. I think this game tells us a lot about the makeup of the East. We can really make a statement by taking three points from this game. It won't be easy; New York seems to usually play us tough and they're certainly better than last year. Here's to the Crew taking three points Thursday.
We haven't won at NY since 07 I think. Its been awhile, but keep in mind that turf they were playing on was a major issue for our team. Hopefully this new nice pitch will allow us to play our game and the fact that we'll be 75+ deep with away supporters will sway our boys to take the W for the first time away from home this year.
I voted win by one. We're on a roll, so I don't see why that would end at this point. I think HSH_B hit the nail on the head. We traditionally don't play well on turf, so I'd say we have a really good chance of finally breaking the streak.
This is a huge match for the Crew. On the road on National TV against the team above them points wise and smarting from their first home loss against Seattle. Hoping for the best but perfectly satisfied with a result. Those who think RW doesn't sub will get to see a different team on Thursday. What are the odds GBS will be suspended? I think he plays.
At this point, I'm thinking not. I'm not ruling it out, but given that we're playing a thursday game, I would suspect that MLS HQ would have broken it to everyone by now. If we don't hear something along those lines by tomorrow morning, I'm assuming we're in the clear.
Massive by one, w/GBS. Ekpo on the wing, Garey to receive and score... w/out GBS...Renteria to scare the living pee out of their back line...Yes Lord!! We be singin "Bye bye red stools"
Weather looks great right now. 82 and sunny for Harrison, NJ on Thursday. Crew by 1. The Moffat Rocket scores.
This. Not saying a victory is in the bag, just that the turf - as was the case in Salt Lake - was a major problem for us. Crew by 1.
Man, I hope one of those bombs from him goes in the net (should I be talking bombs in regards to NYC area?)
