If Orlando was closer in years to RSL, the league probably would have started up a "Lion Cup" for the two teams.
Yeah. Good call. I just don't know why the hesitation. I guess the discussion was about whether or not the foul occurred BEFORE the offside player became involved in the play. But that seems pretty straightforward to me.
0-0 in the 89th minute and the genius announcer calls out the odds are heavy on a draw. These guys....
We've been fortunate lately that some of our opponents left their shooting boots at home on the days they played us.
Excellent point. Heavily rotated lineup, short week, injured goalkeeper, on the road at altitude... good job, boys.
Tonight was a textbook case of "better to be lucky than good". RSL really should have scored in that first half.
A point on the road. Better than we deserve. The referee was consistent. He consistently gave out bucketloads of yellow cards to both team for actions that were barely fouls. We should fly home and try very hard to forget this ever happened.
He did put Rossi through with a flicked header. The O was poor all night but took a hit when Matan left. I'd have loved a win to go top, but making 10 changes, I will take the road point. If we get Ramirez back, we'll be at full health.
Which was fine for us, since our 3 yellows were on Habroune, Arfsten, and Quinton. Not too many worries about accumulation later on in the season. (Unlike for RSL, who got yellows for a few more significant players.)
Least Nancy game I've seen from this squad outside of The Cup. And I respect it. Honestly his stubbornness and refusal to rotate has been my one real knock on him. I kinda liked the old GGG weeknight western conference opponent line changes.
RSL had the better chances , but Rossi had the best Chance. We really needed him to bag that and steal 3pts. Hagen started shaky as did much of the team but they all came along and started playing better for the most part. Was hoping for a draw so it’s definitely a good night overall, all things considered. The subs made a good impact but you have to be impressed with just how good a defensive of effort that was. Also thankful that RSL was offside and we avoided a Camacho disaster.
This was a scheduled loss. The league office put it on the calendar fully expecting RSL to win, even before the Crew put out a JV lineup. Great result. Still only one loss all year. That's incredible and fairly unprecedented. It's not supposed to happen for teams juggling CCC and MLS. Farsi played poorly imo. He was constantly caught out of position and chasing the play. The JRR experiment needs to end. His first touch is awful for a CF and he doesn't see the field well. Good for Bush and Hagen, both played extremely well in spot duty. They were the biggest reason Columbus snuck out with a point. RSL stadium is fairly nice for an MLS 2.0 venue. Weirdest part is the ingress that feels like it was designed by Temple Grandin. About 10 people made the trip. Good time had by all.
