COLUMBUS, Ohio (Wednesday, August 31) - Columbus Crew General Manager Mark McCullers announced today that The Crew will host a viewing party at Crew Stadium for the Crew-Chivas USA game on Saturday, September 3, at 10 p.m. (ET), following the U.S.-Mexico World Cup Qualifier held earlier that night at Crew Stadium. The game will be shown in the Stadium Club on the west side of Crew Stadium. The Crew game is not televised locally but will be available on the MLS Direct Kick package. The U.S.-Mexico match will conclude at approximately 9:30 p.m. (ET). Fans who are not attending the U.S-Mexico qualifier can watch the Crew game on Saturday night at the newly renovated Buffalo Wild Wings Grill & Bar on Bethel Road. The Bethel Road location is the "Official Away Game Headquarters" for all Crew road games. It is located on 5240 Bethel Centre Mall.
This is the most important part of that announcement. Not to hijack a thread, but how do they expect to draw more fans to the club ans league and sport if they can't even see the away games? It's a sad reminder of how far our league still has to go.
It is one of I believe two away games not televised locally all year. Thanks for the insight from North Dakota by the way -- we appreciate it.
that's cool that their doing that.. what's this area like? A restraunt with a big screen? thanks to McCullers. So, I whake up at 6 a.m. drive to Fado's. Get their at 10 a.m. watch England lose to Wales. stay watch a couple more until 2:30. Watch Poland beat up on Austria at 2:30 at Fado's. BTW, two more polish players were signed to english clubs just before transfer window closed.. Rasiak to Tottenham Hotspur and Kosowski to Southampton. Anyway, Get at the tailgate at 4:30. USA VS Mexico 7:30. Columbus Crew 10 p.m.
Very true. I moved here from Columbus at the start of the summer, so I'm experiencing a bit of sports deprivation right now.
