    Ward is with the U20's.

    Not that anyone would notice.

Grabavoy played 90 last Sunday in the reserve match. I was chatting with Ned's dad and he said there wasn't much recovery time from the operation, that he had the surgery 1 day and was back in Columbus the next.

I think it's more "first team" form...

I believe Sigi mentioned it after the RSL press conference.

Vazquez is good for 1 or 2 highlight reel goals a year it seems. He hits one big one, then tries to repeat it for the next dozen matches. He hasn't even remotely threatened since the DC match when he scored.

    Yeah, no kidding.

I can't stand people who think it's a good idea to take low-percentage shots just for the sake of shooting. If shooting just for the hell of it was a good strategy, every team in the world would score a lot more often.

I can't stand people that talk about shot percentage. What does that mean? Surely a low percentage shot is something like not shooting?

And let me guess you thought Cunningham needed to shoot more when he was here?

Shooting not only increases you chances of scoring, but can also lead to creating chances to score. Next you'll be telling me that getting more corners will not lead to goals either.

And who in the Crew line up has looked like scoring in that time?

I would expect a very similar line-up to the one we won with last week. So Pierce and Leitch may start again instead of Marshall and Kotschau.

By the way I just saw this note:
I'm tired of head injuries. All Crew players should now wear that Eskandarian headgear.

That Total 90 thing is a joke. Maybe a joke and a half. It does nothing but make some guy $100 every time he sells one.

Taking full running first-timers that go fifteen yards wide of the target is not my idea of offense.

No, he needed to pass more.

Not in our case, it won't. We haven't scored on a corner kick since the late 80's.

Look, if you're all alone, with no support, and you've got defenders ready to come get in your way, fine. Have a go. But when you've got three or four teammates in the box, and the ball is partially cleared, and you run on to it thirty yards away from goal -- I'm not saying DON'T take it, but if you do, you need to do better than routinely kicking it a mile over the crossbar.

If I honestly have to explain to you that there are both GOOD shots and BAD shots, I'm going to have to seriously consider sending the short bus to your house.

That's a horrible argument. Shooting for the sake of shooting, because no one else does does not make for an effective player.
