they have to have a green card before roster compliance day or they count as an international for the entire year, I think it’s an new rule this year
Or, taking a page from @TRUJDUB21, would this be on Bez? I mean, if he’s a wizard on the in’s and outs on this, would he have been prodding Room to get this done? (And this isn’t to say the blame is NOT on Room, mind you.).
Bez knew at the end of the 2022 season that Nagbe couldn’t be bought down. Should of restructured or given a new contract to get him under the 1.6M mark.
I mentioned this in the other thread but it’s a two way street Nagbe would also have to be willing to do that.
Very true but he wants to be here, I can’t imagine Bez saying hey let’s add a year to your contract but maybe the avg yearly salary 200k less so that we can get another DP. as a family man and team player I would bet the house that Nagbe would be ok with it. He has made more money here by far than what he ever made anywhere else
I could easily see him taking a cut. But its definitely up to him....and even though it might sound petty to be opposed to sacrificing 100-200k when your making 1.8 mil......money is money....and in sports, theres a very finite amount of time you get to make it. Hes not a superstar making tens of millions every year. That 200k is 2 years worth of income at a decent job in Ohio. If the difference is taking a 200k cut and getting to keep making 1.6 mil for another year or two.....or just retiring and making nothing though......I would think itd be worth it. Not my money though and I respect Darlington Nagbe and how he handles his life and business.
Why is this thread still even open? Shouldn't this be in the 2023 Roster Thread? I blame the stupidfaces.
