Rush Fans / Zeppelin / YES / Dead / Phish fans all the same... There's a certain set of each of these fan groups that literally cannot tolerate anyone just not digging their bad's vibe - especially since everytime you're around them, they play the shit out of their favorite band, and to you, it's played out
Not the majority, all of Zepplin sucks, not as much as Rush, but maybe much more. They both suck. Oh, I agree, although I will say I have not met a "Yes" fan in well over 30 years. Do they still exist? [Confession, the 13 year old xtomx was a massive Yes fan. Yes then Pink Floyd, Zepplin and Jethro Tull. At 14, I had a "conversion" and Yes and Zepplin had been banished from my life.]
Led Zeppelin's music is stupid, bombastic, juvenile, derivative, and in their heyday they epitomized much of what went horribly wrong with rock music in the Seventies. Their lyrics were insipid, and their off-stage behavior was aberrant. And I absolutely love them. I've outgrown/moved past nearly all the rock music l listened to as an adolescent, but I can't let LZ go.
How in the world does Hot Tuna belong in the same category with the other acts under discussion? You might as well have said "Oldest bro is a big Rembrandt, van Gogh and Lewis Black fan."
Sure and has been a fan for, what, 4 or 5 decades? That was sort of my point. There are fans still around (although they are getting long in the tooth), but are there any under, say, 35?
Because people can have eclectic musical taste. My partner is a huge Opera fan, a huge fan of symphonic music, a massive jazz fan and loves Interpol and Lords of Acid.
Michigan football is on pause for a while due to the pandemic. Quite honestly, that the sports world isn't looking to the NBA for the way they handled things is not a surprise.
Pelosi was shutting down $1.6T COVID relief offer but now she is backing a $900B one ? I know the offer came from the WH ... but what am I missing ?
My comment wasn't about people's tastes (I tend to think of mine as being pretty eclectic), but about the relevance to the discussion up to that point. It's like if people were debating the popularity of cop dramas, and someone said "yeah, I'm a big fan of Thomas the Tank Engine."
Didn't keep Obama from being reelected. Covid is Trump's legacy. The recovery that'll occur in Biden's first year in the White House - assuming his administration succeeds in coordinating vaccine distribution - will be a helluva good start to his administration.
I think Biden spearheads a bigger stimulus sometime in his first 100 days. Senate is possibly a stumbling block, but not insurmountable.
I googled "Black man in Adam Sandler movies" and didn't see this image. Who is he? The build is about right. The hair, maybe 30 years ago. Bald/shaved now. The shirt? Never. Round rim glasses. And due to COVID, the goatee has grown to "Don't give him any money- he'd just spend it on drugs" length.
I saw them in concert... almost 50 years ago. Ouch. Still isten to their music but not to the degree I did back then.
Meanwhile, back on covid, over 2760 deaths in the US today - a record - but I suspect that some of this figure is catching up recording deaths that occurred over the Thanksgiving holiday. We'll know for sure based on trends the next few days.
Presumably it's someone that only gets acting parts in Adam Sandler movies, like the rest of his co-stars.
