Toulouse-Lyon should be good, it'll be exciting to see how Toulouse bounce back after we thrashed them in the Ligue last weekend. Good Luck to both squads.

I guess the luck, as usual, went in favor of the stronger side, with a controversial penalty deciding the match. I didn't see the game, but everyone is commenting that the call was a bit harsh...

Ouch I can't read lol. Anyway I'd like to see PSG win the thing just for the fact that I'd like to see them in Europe next year. I think they get in Europe for just making the final too. I dont know how seriously PSG would take the UEFA Cup since I'm sure they believe over there that they should be in the Champions League every year. I think in recent years PSG hasnt done too well in the UEFA Cup so maybe they dont take it seriously. Thats a shame because if I were them I would want to be the first French team to win it. That would be my goal if I were them and in the UEFA Cup.

We'll take the Intertoto if we have to. We did it a few years back and will do it again.

Clermont (L2) v Lyon (L1) 1-1... Extra time to be played. Wiltord saved Lyon by scoring a 94the minute goal, what a pity for Clermont who resisted very well.

Which was pretty convenient for us since the PdP was banned for 2 European matches.

    Nice job Clermont-Ferrand!!!

Althought, I think that Lyon was a little down on intensity after their St-Etienne and Werder Bremen wins...

Good job Clermont Foot, you guys deserved it. I'm scared about Govou's injury i was following the game on the OL boards, and I thought i read hes out for 2 weeks, missing the Bremen match.

    1/16 Results:

    Clermont (L2) 1-1 Lyon (L1) [aet] *
    [Rodriguez 55; Wiltord 90+]

    * Clermont win 4-3 on pens.

    Sedan (L2) 2-0 Quevilly (CFA)
    [Sabin 52, Mokake 72]

    Nîmes (N) 4-0 Nice (L1)
    [Dembele 19, Verschave 36, 72, Enza 66]

I saw the Lyon match. Clermont deserved it in normal time, but give away a stupid goal in the last minute of added time. They pushed Lyon and didn't give them any space. I thought it was a fair result.

As for Nimes........Holy Crap! They take another Ligue 1 scalp.

I know people love to see the lower division teams knock off Ligue 1 teams but me I would like to see as many big teams advance as possible. Now we will be denied a potential Lyon vs Monaco or PSG cup match and I would have really liked to have seen that. Now based on whats left I think that either PSG, Monaco or Nantes 1 of those teams have to be in the final for it have any juice.

    CLERMONT STUN LYON

Clermont Striker Bruno Rodriguez slotted in a 20-metre free kick to put his side ahead in the 54th minute and French international Sylvain Wiltord equalised for Lyon four minutes into stoppage time.

The hosts hung on in extra time to force a penalty shootout, in which Lyon strikers Pierre-Alain Frau and Wiltord had their shots saved by Clermont goalkeeper Vincent Bouchard.

Clermont are only the second French side after Ligue 1 club Lille to beat Olympique Lyon this season.

Lille eliminated the champions in the first round of the League Cup and beat them again in a home league match in January.

The result was a setback for Lyon, who demolished Werder Bremen 3-0 last week in the away leg of their Champions League first knockout round tie and beat arch-rivals St Etienne 3-2 in Ligue 1 on Saturday.

To add salt to their wounds, Lyon captain Sidney Govou picked up a thigh injury and is doubtful for the league match against Caen on Friday.

"It was a tough evening," Lyon coach Paul Le Guen said. "The outcome is pretty bad. We were forced to play for 120 minutes and Govou is likely to miss our next outing.

"Clermont did exactly what they had to. We came very close to qualification but we lacked efficiency when we were attacking.

"I'm sad for my players because they did their best and they came out with empty hands."

Holders Paris St Germain face AJ Auxerre in the highlight of Wednesday's third-round matches.

    Auxerre 3 - PSG 2

Auxerre with another cup comeback (after Ajax)

2 second half goals sink PSG.

Guy Roux is truly a living legend. Think about it, he lost Boumsong, Cissé & Mexès all French national team potential star and his team is still riding high.

    Chapeau Guy!!!
