OPORTO, Portugal (AFP) - FC Porto captain Francisco Costinha remained in hospital after suffering a head injury during the team's 2-1 away loss to Vitoria Guimaraes in a Portuguese Cup match. The 29-year-old international midfielder collapsed on the pitch after colliding with Vitoria midfielder Falvio Meireles in the 77th minute of Wednesday's match and had to be stretchered off the pitch. Costinha briefly lost consciousness and suffered memory loss, the club said in a statement. "His clinical situation is evolving favourably and his prognosis is good," the statement added. The player was first taken to a hospital in the northern city of Guimaraes before being moved to a private hospital in the country's second city Oporto.
I watched the game and the incident with Costinha was pretty scary, but i'm glad to hear he's going to be alright. As Costinha goes so does Porto.
