    Simoes???

I just wonder if your Federation is basically writing off finishing in the Top 3 to give Simoes time to get the Ticos on the same page for a all-or-nothing roll of the dice in the playoff vs CONMEBOL...

    Could someone explain this?

It´s still too early to tell, but most likely are thinking long-term, since Simoes is a known team-builder (a make-over we´re long overdue for.) Niether the Costa Rican federation or press have much patience for poor results, Sampson, Pinto, Guimaraes, Medford, Kenton, etc. were all axed as soon as things went sour, they aren´t taking any chances with a CONMBOL team likely to be much stronger than El Salvador or Honduras.

Seriously, no one buys the 'long term' excuse.

When have we done anything long term when it comes to futbol?

He'll be sacked as soon as the repechaje is over.

Does anyone know what kind of formation Simoes uses?....i'm a fan of the 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 but i think Costa Rica is better suited for a 3-5-2 formation especially since the 4-4-2 is better for organized teams which Costa Rica is not.

If I was Rene Simoes...i would try to line-up a 3-5-2...something like this if its possible for the matches against Trinidad and USA...

    -----------------------Keylor Navas---------------------
    ----Tuma Martinez----Michael Umana----Gonzalo Segares------
    Roy Myrie----------------------------------------------Leo Gonzalez
    ------------------------Jorge Davis-----------------------------
    ----------------Celso Borges------Bryan Ruiz-------------------
    ----------Alvaro Saborio-------Rolando Fonseca :D---------------

Thats not Angulo...Angulo is a stick...but at least has decent technique and a nice right foot. Angulo won't be joining Melbourne until next week.

Those "analyst" have a radio show called "Escenario Deportivo"....and basically always act that way...especially the bald doode and the guy that looks like Huerta who always talk shit...they are probably our version of Futbol Picante...always talking shit for ratings i guess...but just like everything that has to do with Costa Rican football...they suck ass.

    It sucks!

Let's hope our U-20 team does well in Egypt...it's a nice squad but in a tough group...getting to the 2nd round would be a huge boost for the players to try to be the first Costa Rican team to make it past the 2nd round of a World Cup.

Well that guy looks like a stick to me:D! And that's his squad number...so unless some other bloke is wearing his gear then...

It was reported here that he was already in Australia but he can't play an actual match till next week because he's still organizing a visa.

    U-20 World Cup

    Brazil 5 Costa Rica 0

Same shit as always...we create chances but can't score for shitt...our defense is really shittty (especially that Derrick Johnson who was really pathetic in the 1st half)...and the team just completely gave up in the 2nd half and was owned by Brazil.

Very disappointing to lose this way even though it was against arguably the best team in this World Cup...especially since we looked good for most of the 1st half IMO...we were even screwed big time out of a HUGE penalty against Cristian Gamboa when the score was 0-0...but thats no excuse for losing by a huge margin. That little shitt Allen Guevara is pretty good...he has really good pace and wasn't scared attacking the Brazil defense. Now let's hope we can beat Australia and get at least 1 point against Czech Republic to have a good chance to advance.
