Coppell resigns

    Sort of had to see this coming. We'll, um...see what happens? I can't think of anything meaningful to say on the subject.

    It was obvious that Coppell was going to leave if we didn't get promoted. Anyone have any candidates to replace his position?

    2. Sir Alex
    3. Rijkard
    Any one of those three will be fine.:D

    I would actually want someone like Curbishley. He works well with limited resources at clubs like Reading and I could see us going up with him at the helm. You can also throw in a Paul Ince, Jewell or Boothroyd.

    Actually, one thing to be said: Thanks. He was the best manager Reading have had in a long line of clinkers (pards the traitor excepted, copps was better, but pards wasn't a clinker).
    For a couple years, Copps was the best manager in England (first three years, esp years two and three).
    Couldn't have asked more from a manager, and OMG did he leave the club loaded with talent, both experienced and young.
