I don't see why people keep saying Brazilian teams are out! Santos are in the next round and their team stacked. Wouldn't be surprised if they won it all. I hope caldas win but we can't get cocky now
The only good news from this result to me is that Bolillo won't be tempted now to bring in G10 or Viafara. (I believe if Junior would have gone far in the Libertadores he would have given them credit and rewarded them.)
Junior didn't deserve to win considering how the goalkeeper gave them 2 freebie. Quintaburro must go!
Great game in barranquilla. very exciting til the end. Jaguares got lucky but a win is a win. Junior didnt seem to want it bad enough. To me they played a little too confident because they knew they were playing vs the last place in the Mexican league, but what they forgot is that Jackson is half this team and when he is on the field he gives a huge boost to jaguares. This is the most interesting libertadores in a while.
My thoughts about the game: 1. Jackson looked great, but every time he held his ankle or his tigh, I was like... Oh no, not again!!! 2. Bad night by Chiapa's keeper... It's not usual to see a goalie get subbed other than due to injury, but he was the one keeping Junior alive. 3. This have the word "choker" written all over the face of Junior.. I wouldn't point any fingers, but there are some players (coughvieracoughgiocough) that really can't carry an important game on their shoulders... 4. It was not the best footie, but it was exciting as hell.. It beats the two semifinal routings in UCL by a mile... Hell yeah, Libertadores is great man, Champions may have the better players, but it's lacking the exciment of Libertadores...
THIS..... I hate when people go great lenghts to watch ManU or Barca play some crap team, but aren't bothered to see great south american footy!!... The UCL Barca - Real matches were dreadful, ... PS: Of course, the production values of the tv feeds could improve A LOT in the Libertadores.
We just need him to get to Europe and work with their physios and diet and training regimen. Falcao was the same way at River, plagued by injuries, and since going to Porto he's played a ton of games with just one spell of injury. I have a feeling Jackson would benefit the same way. Terrific finisher.
Unlike most of our players, Jackson's physique is exhuberant... I was looking at his arms and, boy he's huge.. That gives him great advantage when dealing with defenders in the air or when playing with his back to the goal.. But maybe it puts too much pressure on his ankles and knees.. Maybe he needs to lose a few pounds of muscle to ease down the work of his lower train.. My two cents..
The only thing about jackson is that he doesnt seem to run a lot during the game. IMO he seems kinda of a lazy player, ive always seen it that way since he started playing for jaguares
But he has enough strength in his legs, is more like his joints and ligaments can't take that much weigth... It is not so atypical for an athlete to lose a few pounds in order to gain agility and endurance at the cost of some bulk.. good one.. but it's also because he's just comming back, he is not 100% yet (scary to think he scored with such easyness while being not at his top form!!!) so he has to be smart about the way he moves on the field..
Tough game for Caldas tonight. 1) they just didn't have an answer for neymar save shirt pulling and fouling 2) tough luck with finishing in the box 3) hideous crossing. Every time some tried to get the ball into the box it skied over goal and into the stands...
Yup. Not much more to say about tonight's match Ryu. Only things to look forward to is the fact that Caldas seems to play better on the road and Carbonero will be a huge boost on offense. Maybe they can pull off another miracle....
