hey guys i have a stupid question. I was watching the libertadores highlights this morning (Pumas-Tachira knockout game was being covered) and during the national anthem when all 22 players are lined up, the pumas players had their arms extended diagonally and their fists out. can someone explain to me what that means? it also looked like half of them were facing the opposite side but they were all doing that salute. i'm a big time noob so excuse my ignorance. just asking because it looked awesome haha. thanks in advance
That is the salute of the university (UNAM) whose name they carry Wouldn't be surprised if it was inspired by this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1968_Olympics_Black_Power_salute ^this happened in the stadium that pumas play at.
The pressure that powerful pacey strikers can put on a defense and we've got guys like Eduardo Herrera starting in LigaMX and in consideration for the NT. smh...
2-1 coming back to Mexico ain't that bad but gawddam do they need to play better if they want a crack at the final let alone the cup.
