But this is different from previous Copas. More teams, more matches, bigger stadiums, bigger markets. No way to compare.

So Messi scored most of his CA goals in this 2016 edition.. that's nice to know. I believe it.. cuz last year he only scored one goal.. a PK against Paraguay.

I dont understand why the TV money would be different if the same tournament was played in South America. The TV market is the same.
If Concacaf teams were allowed to send their best teams it shouldn't make a difference.

Becasue Univision paid more for this one then Bein paid for the one in Chile.

If we had a combine Copa I'm sure Univision and Fox will pay to have the rights.

They paid more because they got more. Mexico sent a B team to Chile, the US wasn't there, 12 teams instead of 16, etc.
Give them the same thing in Bolivia, Paraguay, or anywhere, and people will watch. It makes no difference where the signal comes from.
And in South America you'll see a whole country, a whole people involved in it, breathing, talking, living football 24 hours a day, and that comes through across the camera.

Univision's influence in the USA is obviously much greater than it is in Latin America.
I don't think it is a coincidence that television kick off times within this USA Copa tournament correlated with Prime Time and other evening slots that help Univision with their ratings. Even the Final is going to be a Prime Time match on Sunday. Usually Copa America Finals in South America are a bit earlier in the afternoon.

They can't manipulate things down there and lobby like they can here in the USA.

Univision is an American Owned Company.. so it makes sense.

    No, it doesn't.
There is only an hour difference between New York and most of South America so "getting" the games at prime time eastern is not a big deal.
And as far as influence, Univision practically created this whole cup, for God's sake, so spreading a little "happiness" to grease the wheels down South would seem like a problem to you?
    I don't think so.

It may get to the point where it rotates between Nations but I think it is a very safe bet that the proposed new Cup (whatever it will be named) will be played in the USA initially. All parties are open to discussing it as stated in the article I posted.

El Portugal-Hungria ha sido el unico bueno en toda la Eurocopa.

Y no solo es la falta de goles. El nivel en general ha sido bajisimo.

I watched most of the Germany VS Poland match but then I found watching my ceiling fan pattern of movement much more interesting.
Euro 2016 has sucked! Italy VS Spain is my last hope

Why must people bash another tournament in order to feel better about the tournament they like better?
It is a lot like Americans I know who bash soccer in order to feel better about American sports.

    IT get's lame.
