ok i am leaving for russia on friday, and i am having a problem with this converter stuff. i have a panasonic dvd camcorder and my friend says that i ONLY need the outlet adapter for eastern europe.

this is what it says on the charger:
    USA&CANADA 120V ~ FOREIGN 110-240V~50/60Hz 19 W
    Output: 8.4V--0.65A (charge)
    7.9V--1.4A (video camera)

but, today at radioshack, i was told that i needed an electricity converter thing too.

which one is it? i already have this:

Power in Russia is 220 volts, and as far as I know they use the same plugs as the rest of Europe. You should be ok with just the plug adapter that is in the bottom center of you picture. You should not need a power converter.

People who work at Radio Shack are, on average, clueless.

    ;)

Usually all camera and Laptop charger are able to work with different voltage input anyways, I had just a plug for those things and no power converter when I came to the US. And yes, Russia should have the same plugs as continental Europe, the middle east and Africa, being the bottom middle on the picture :)

As far as I know the voltage of the iPod charger is 100 - 240 volts.

Apple sells and adapter kit specficically for the iPod (and other Apple products), but I don't think you'd need it. You should be able to use your North American iPod plug and plug it into the adapter you posted the picture of.
