Is there a way to limit the width and size of photos when posting a picture?

    For example:

    [ img]picture.jpg[/img]

will post the picture.jpg file in actual size. Is there a way to do something like this?

There doesn't appear to be a mechanism to do this.

Check the FAQ, but I don't think you can control the image width using BigSoccer Code. Sorry.

It's not a good idea anyway. Big images are big images regardless of display size. Folks with slow connections still would have to download the full image. Most digital cameras dump pictures of 700k-1.5k these days. And that's what a lot of folks put online. "resizing" it dynamically with html tags works, but it's a crappy practice.

It's better for folks to do the dirty work themselves, then put the smaller cropped or thumbnails up.

Mr Mead, as is his wont, has it right. It's relatively simple to resize pictures right on the BS page but I'm not about to tell you how to do it.

First for the reason he states, and second because it's relatively simple to resize your picture, post it on some pic site and thereby avoid blatently ripping off bandwidth from some unsuspecting proprietor.
