Good to see Guus Hiddink as part of FOX's coverage.

So far I have to say that I like the switch from Univision to Telemundo this cycle when it comes to the apps and digital platforms. I find Telemundo Deportes in vivo to be a bit crisper on my devices (even old android ones.)

The switch from ESPN3 to Fox Sports Go visually is a bit better on most of my devices too however not having acces to archived matches are a bummer.

I'm just now seeing @Kryptonite's post. I knew Gus wasn't calling games and hadn't in years and that they would never use him just for studio work, but I couldn't figure out where this post was coming from...
    Damn...

    :ROFLMAO:

That commentator Jorge Perez Navarro was horrendous on the Mexico-Portugal game. I understand wanting a commentator that speaks Spanish as a first language on game involving Spanish speaking countries, like how ESPN put Fernando Palomo on Mexico games back when they had them. The problem with Jorge is that his English wasn't very polished and he didn't really know which words to use. He also used gimmicks like yelling "FIRE" every time someone took a free kick. His goal calls also went on for too long and left Cobi Jones no time to inject any analysis.

Setting aside the goal call, they should give Mariano a shot at calling the Mexican side. This guy is as good as they get when it comes to analyzing this beautiful game. Smart move to bring him over from FOX Deportes. He is one of the few that calls a game, analyzes a team in pre and post games unbiasedly even if it's Mexico. He knows the games very well. You can see that whenever he talks in Copa Tonight. Hopefully, he'll get his shot.

@JohnStrong - Hoping we've got our heads screwed on straight for #GERCHI tonight.
Not expecting to but hoping nonetheless.

Hope this isn't what their World Cup coverage is going to be like. Average to poor commentators, commentators' voices ahead of the action, USMNT retreads on the coverage. Not a fan.

Oh it will be. They've already said they're only going with home-grown announcers, etc. With the time difference & work, I'm just going to seek out ITV caps of the matches to watch in the evening rather than rely on the DVR.
