I think congress should take over responsibilities in this department...things are getting out of control...in fact i would like them not only to make and enforce rules on US players, but all CONCACAF...no All players world-wide...so it'll be fair.

Neither Bruce Arena nor Sigi Schmid have been abusing diet pills.

It's actually been dis-confirmed. No doping here whatsoever.

Apparently, Carmona and the other Cruz Azul dude just wanted more money for the Confed Cup, so Lavolpe sent them home.

The speculation was from some Mexican papers. FIFA said that the players in question weren't even selected for the random test.

where to you think all the college football players go for their steroids...

    south of the border...

    it's cheap and it's legal...

an lsu football player got caught a month ago transporting huge volumes...

hey, big programs cheap to win...

if you don't believe that, you're naive....

you need unannounced out of season tests to catych anyone....

if you know when the test is coming, ti's easy to beat...

all this balco stuff was about beating tests...

of course, marion jones never failed a test, she cheated her way past the test....

Well, now the Mexican soccer (football) federation seems to have reopened the case against Carmona and Galindo even though Blatter denied the doping rumors yesterday.

fifa doesn't want to adopt the rigorous olympic standards because they know big names will go down....

go back to 2000 and 2001 and look at the 20 pound heavier nomar garciaparra and ask yourself, are all the subtle close door stories really true, and he and drugs....

then think about his wife, who went through a down phase, only to be suddenly givem a new life...

I'm surprised thomas flannigan hadn't pursued this angle...

and abby wambach.......any girl that big who lacks breasts is a likely user too...

look at marion jones and kelly white.......

Is it strange to anyone else that a national team/federation would invent such a story to dismiss players for this type of behavior? Why not just send them home? If the press probes deeper for the reasons (which they would) you could simply respond by confirming the players' demands.

Would the goal then be to end the international playing careers of these guys by leaking such a story?

I just think that the story does harm to the entire team and federation, so it makes no sense for the team to lie.

Radio Univision just reported it...that due to press pressure, sources at Mexican Fed and FIFA do confirm it is related to doping...At least they mention it all was the result of the Mexican NT doctor catching these two guys putting some sort of unknown substances (they said "gotas"=drops) onto themselves.... Cruz Azul, the club they belong to... has done their independent study... and the two will go through a check up in CAlifornia.... results of which will determine their future..

Apparently FIFA said this deal won't affect Mexico's stading in Confederations Cup.. but if half of this turns out to be the true.....shame on these a-holes.....

Mexicans confirms two players sent home for taking banned substances

This just shows you that in today's athletic arenas, competition is so tight that anyone will resort to do just about anything in their training to win an edge and therefore get lucrative endorsement deals. Doping was not this bad years ago when this much money was not involved. Just look at the Olympics as an example. What would the greatest track and field athlete of all time, Jim Thorpe, do in competition if he had supplements? I think doping is the answer to those you do not possess raw talent to be competitive....they just can't except the fact that they can't compete and probably would never be the best athlete in their prospective sport. There is no place for it at any level. If you are not talented enough then you are not talented enough to compete, therefore, understand your place. It is even getting into golf. What would you say if you found out that Tiger Woods was doping or taking , "beta blockers?"

It is going to come down to the mere fact that athletes will not be able to take anything at all except a natural diet and if you are sick and need medication then you will not be able to compete until all traces of the medication are out of your body. Just an opinion...it is just life....
