Leroux is 25, I think. Hinkle was in the U17 player pool in 2010 but didn't make the U17 WWC roster, but really none of them had any time at the u17 or u20 level.
Well, as a follower of international football, but as a non specific follower of US women's football scene, I have to say I am quite relieved: this means that it's not me who somehow overlooked these players; I just wasn't exposed to them. Wow, still quite young, after all. Not in absolute terms, but anyway quite young for the average of players who become mothers in women's football, I'd say.
They all were part of different youth NTs, but never made it to any WWC team. Hinkle was member of the U-17, participated in U-17 WC qualifying and was invited in 2011 to U-20 camp. Sonnett was part of U-18. McCaffrey was invited to U-17 and U-20 camps.
Puerto Rico and Trinidad and Tobago have arrived (or shortly are arriving) in the US for training camps ahead of the tournament. Puerto Rico will be in camp in North Carolina and has scheduled friendlies with several college teams and the Charlotte Lady Eagles: http://www.concacaf.com/article/puerto-rico-women-head-to-north-carolina-for-camp Puerto Rico's roster (http://www.fedefutbolpr.com/listado...epresentaran-a-puerto-rico-en-el-preolimpico/): 1 Karly Gustafson Winthrop University 2 Kelley Johnson Agente Libre 3 Victoria Barris Quickstrike FC 4 Viviana Fiol Agente Libre 5 Noelia Reyes Bayamón FC 6 Marie Ashley Johnson Agente Libre 7 Delyaliz Rosario Romano SA 8 Selimar Pagán Bayamón FC 9 Karina Socarrás Bayamón FC 10 Laura Suárez Romano SA 11 Annie Lee Méndez Bayamón FC 12 Alejandra Carrión Gurabo FC 13 Sandra Rolón Romano SA 14 Ahsley Rivera Romano SA 15 Ángela Díaz Caribbean Stars 16 Marianée Zaragoza Águilas de Añasco 17 Adriana Font Challengers FC 18 Nicole Rodríguez Durham, Inglaterra 19 Stephanie Colón Agente Libre 20 María del Carmen Guerrero Puerto Rico High Performance Trinidad and Tobago will be in camp in Houston for 10 days with an unofficial roster of 21 (official rosters have to be named by Feb. 3): http://www.concacaf.com/article/tt-women-travel-to-houston-ahead-of-cwoq Trinidad and Tobago's unofficial roster (1 will have to be cut for the official roster): GOALKEEPERS: Shalette Alexander, Saundra Baron, Kimika Forbes DEFENDERS: Danielle Blair, Jenelle Cunningham, Liana Hinds, Arin King, Anastasia Prescott MIDFIELDERS: Maylee Attin Johnson, Khadidra Debesette, Karyn Forbes, Janine Francois, Naomi Guerra, Chevonne John, Victoria Swift, Kayla Taylor FORWARDS: Kennya Cordner, Jo-Marie Lewis, Ahkeela Mollon, Mariah Shade, Tasha St. Louis
TTFA continuing to be TTFA: TTFA supposedly asks Waldrum for help in setting up friendlies while the T&T team is in camp in Houston: http://wired868.com/2016/01/31/ttfa-allegedly-asks-waldrum-to-help-get-wwarriors-match-practice/ Umm, TTFA, you do remember that you fired him, right? Also in the article, Trinidad and Tobago was supposed to play 2 warm-up friendlies against Costa Rica but ended up not going because they were late in applying for visas.
The TTFA did not fire or terminate Waldrum that chose not to offer him a contract for Concacaf as well the next 4 year cycle inclusive of WWC 2019 as the TTFA want a local coach. The local sporting scene in Trinidad is reporting that it had more to do with finances than it did getting a Visa as to why the team did not travel to Costa Rica. To enter Costa Rica from Trinidad no Visa is required however it was implied that the Visa was the issue. A Visa is required to enter the States from TnT so that may have been the hold up never-the-less Costa Rica is not happy. http://wired868.com/2016/01/27/djw-wwarriors-had-no-passports-to-travel-but-ttfa-light-on-details/ See Costa Rica article http://wired868.com/2016/01/27/costa-rica-dismayed-at-wwarriors-no-show-ttfa-silent-on-incident/ 19
The fact that FIFA is withholding payments from CONCACAF (and CONMEBOL) may have something to do with T & T backing out of the Costa Rica friendlies. Their federation's poor money management is now compounded.
Mexico announces Olympic qualifying roster. Charlyn Corral, leading scorer in the Spanish League, is left off after calling for a new coach after the WWC. Lot of new faces. 1 Cecilia Santiago Portera 19/10/1994 2 Esthefanny Barreras Portera 02/11/1996 3 Bianca Henninger Portera 22/10/1990 4 Arianna Romero Defensa 29/07/1992 5 Janelly Farias Defensa 12/02/1990 6 Alina Garciamendez Defensa 16/04/1991 7 Valeria Miranda Defensa 18/08/1992 8 Greta Espinoza Defensa 05/06/1995 9 Annia Mejía Defensa 12/03/1996 10 Mónica Flores Defensa 31/01/1996 11 Nayeli Rangel Media 28/02/1992 12 Teresa Noyola Media 15/04/1990 13 Verónica Pérez Media 18/05/1988 14 Karla Nieto Media 09/01/1995 15 Mónica Ocampo Delantera 04/01/1997 16 Alicia Johnson Delantera 14/09/1994 17 Paloma Zermeño Delantera 18/06/1995 18 Tanya Samarzich Delantera 28/12/1994 19 Maribel Domínguez Delantera 18/11/1978 20 Desiree Monsivais Delantera 19/01/1988
Wow, you mean Leonardo Cuéllar is not Mexico's coach anymore? How many thousand years it was he was sitting on Mexico's bench (despite quite mediocre results overall)? I thought that he couldn't be moved from that position any way...
No, he's still coach. The rumor is that Corral was cut because she spoke up after the WWC and said Mexico needed a new coach. Some of Corral's tweets seem to confirm that is what she is thinking about why she was cut: Charlyn is not going out without fighting. Translation of @CharlynCorral tweets after being left out for the roster. pic.twitter.com/s09x18guz0— Pamela Del Olmo (@pndom) February 4, 2016 And then this: Ever since Charlyn said Mexico needed a new Coach, she hasn't been called back to the team and she's the Top Scorer in the Spanish League.— Pamela Del Olmo (@pndom) February 3, 2016
The Mexican women will never amount to anything as a team until Cuellar is fired. I'd like to see Corral in the NWSL. I think she would be good. Someday, perhaps, players like Sofia Huerta will speak up about their experiences on the Mexican National Team. Huerta, you will recall, quit the Mexican team at a time when she would likely have been a starter at the upcoming World Cup. Corral has now burned her bridges behind her. "Something is rotten in Denmark" -- oops, Hamlet meant Mexico.
Sadly, I think that if Corral is now the black sheep of the Mexican federation, that makes it even less likely for her getting in to NWSL, if they ever revived their allocation... Granted, she's probably good enough to get in on her own merits, but she would have to be lured away from Europe.
Very similar to the WWC roster; only 2 new names: Yolian Salas and Yalitza Sánchez. EDIT: Costa Rican Federation's article on the roster.
And Guyana's final roster of 20: GK: Chante Sandiford, Simone Busby, Ruth George Defenders: Julia Gonsalves, Kelly Pelz-Butler, Justine Rodrigues, Briana DeSouza, Bria Williams, Leah- Marie Ramalho, Kayla DeSouza Midfielders: Mariam El-Masri, Alison Heydorn, Ashley Rodrigues (C), Kailey Leila, Ashlee Savona, Dana Bally, Olivia Gonsalves, Brittany Persaud Forwards: Calaigh Copland, Otesha Charles http://www.gffonline.com/lady-jags-coach-mark-rodrigues-named-his-final-roster/ I think that leaves only Guatemala's roster missing. All I see on their website is a list of 29 players called into training camp and not a final roster.
Correct me if I am wrong . Does each teams roster not need to be at 20? What is the deadline to announce the final roster? http://wired868.com/2016/02/04/women-warriors-get-in-shape-for-olympic-qualifiers/ 19
Yes, the roster is 20, and 3 have to be goalkeepers. The deadline was Feb. 3, but I still haven't seen the T&T final roster (the one I posted earlier and also in your link has 21; they have to cut one) or a Guatemala final roster.
Can you post the link to where you found the information regarding the final roster of 20 must contain 3 goal keepers. Thanks 19
Its in the FIFA Regulations for the Olympic tournament (see page 33 on preliminary competitions' player lists).
there's only one person who should coach the Mexican WNT;..............El Piojo! At least he'll sell more tickets, as some might say he's more entertaining than the game itself

Mixxed Zone podcast: http://www.howlermagazine.com/turf-side-story/ The first half is about the USSF v WNTPA dispute and turf v. grass, but the second half of the podcast is an interview with Monica Gonzalez (former Mexican WNT captain who now is a commentator on ESPN). If you just want to hear the 2nd half, jump to 32:30. Gonzalez talks about Corral being cut and her perspective on why (Gonzalez was also once cut from the team). She talks about Cuellar and the Mexican WNT development and finally about the CONCACAF tournament. The interview is really worth listening to. Gonzalez obviously has some bias, but its a great interview of someone with an inside perspective.
