Schedule is out.. https://www.concacaf.com/en/olympic...ic-qualifying-championship-schedule-confirmed
For the record, U.S. Soccer on Twitter noted some roster timeline stuff. The TL;DR version is that they said the (again, non-binding 50-man, so really who cares?) provisional rosters were due Feb. 19 and we might see CONCACAF publish them tomorrow. The provisional rosters for the 2020 Concacaf Men’s Olympic Qualifying Championship - which can include up to 50 players and are non-binding - are due Feb. 19. Concacaf will publish a few days later.— U.S. Soccer Comms (@ussoccer_comms) February 17, 2020 Concacaf has indicated they will release all the provisional rosters of the participating teams on Feb. 26.— U.S. Soccer Comms (@ussoccer_comms) February 22, 2020 I'm pretty sure, by the way, that even if some dual-eligible surprises show up on provisional rosters, we should not automatically assume that they have filed switches/formally committed to the program.
Who here can help @ussoccer97531 quickly rank the 400 players on the 8 provisional rosters to be released tomorrow? Wish I could help, but I'll be swamped until someone else does all the work. Thanks, guys!
THE NEW PHONE BOOK'S HERE THE NEW PHONE BOOK'S HERE Provisional rosters: https://mcusercontent.com/78d3589fb...166d4246/20_MOQ_Rosters_Provisional_Lists.pdf Again, they are non-binding, so ... who cares, kinda? But, there are some interesting names on there, I suppose, if not maybe any huge surprise inclusions. Or maybe there are some!
I see five goalkeepers on the list, four of whom I recognize - Ochoa, Freese, Marcinkowski, and Scott. Who is Drake Callender, and is he related to Roman, Julius or Gregory?
That seems to be the case, yes. So this is probably mainly useful for 1) CONCACAF in getting press/fan materials ready ahead of the tournament and 2) obsessives like us.
Looking at Mexico and US roster I see one player for them is on a Euro team and 15 for us. Also Efrain Alvarez is not named to their provisional roster (or US either).

If you knew me you would not be surprised, though I doubt too many are mine, as I mostly copied and pasted, then deleted middle names, etc. Lennon is spelled Lennon and Lenon on the list, so I chose Lennon - my preference. Not sure how Brooks spells his last name. [Note to self that there's a mini-gold mine of middle names to work with later.]
Benji Michel really seems to be rolling the dice that he gets a chance in the U.S. setup. Good luck to him; gotta applaud the dedication. I haven't done a careful scan of other teams' rosters for American players, though I do see Verhoeven on there for Canada and of course some dude named Gonzalez for Mexico.
To be fair after Andrew Carleton absolutely decimated Paraguay in the u17 World Cup it was hard to not argue that he was a massive prospect. If he wasn't an idiot and if Atlanta actually cared about developing american homegrown's Carleton would probably be a lock for the Olympic team right now. Atlanta letting Carleton hang around Brek Shea was his downfall.
Believe me, I have not thought once about what you might think since the last time you displayed your rage towards me, but it’s weird to know that you care what I think. Davies is a talented player and has taken extremely well to LB. Good for him, but I don’t care that much. I’m not Canadian. Carleton is also an extremely talented player. I don’t know the validity of what you stated. I wouldn’t assume anything you said is true, but I’ll if I said that, I don’t have reason to not stand by it. I can’t control which players are given chances and when. I don’t control how teams use their players. Who becomes what is irrelevant to the ability they show.

I mean, perhaps he wasn't released? Does anyone that knows anything about Mexican soccer want to make an estimation of this roster? I know, and have never been overly impressed by, Uriel Antuna, though he's a good get for the U23 level. That's about all. There are names that sound familiar, but I don't know anyone's game.
Macias can definitely put the ball in the net. Had 19 goals for Leon during the 2019 calendar year, and has 4 goals in 7 matches so far for Chivas during the Calusura. He should be in Europe by January.
