And a BMF. 3-1 Crew victory.

I went all crazy like and picked the Crew to win by 2.

 

Blue Jackets are to hits what Crew is to crosses. Both teams relentlessly focusing on unproductive things leading to failure.

 

Sports suck and I hate them so much.

 

There was a moment of enlightenment in college football 5 or so years ago along the lines of: lots of good plays called in immediately after the last play were way better than a few great plays called more slowly. The reason why a good play called quicker is better than a great played called slower is because it does not allow the defense time to recover or set up. I think this principle applies in soccer too. Speed of attack appears to matter more important than precision. So unless we can get out of this mindset of checking up, passing backwards, and sacrificing our own quick options merely to retain possession, we are going to continue to have problems scoring goals.

I do not get to make it to tonight's game, which is probably for the better. I get weepy thinking about our Crew going against a GBS team (and I hate the Galaxy). I hope the Nordecke shows him some love prior to the game because during and after the game, well that love ought to be reserved for those still donning the Crew black and gold.

 

Personally, and for no other reason than to vote in these polls, I’m pleased that the “lose by two” era has returned.

It keeps us humble.

 

I will not be cheering for GBS at any time tonight, and won't ever again (unless he comes here to coach).

Maybe when he retires from coaching, same as I did with McBride.
