I would rather win against NYRB on Saturday.

 

Depending on how Chicago lines up....I'm actually relatively comfortable with this B team. The only one I dont really have confidence in is Jahn but maybe hell pull something off. I just want to see Sosa a whole game.

 

Looking forward to it--still that's a *lot* of home games in 5 weeks.

 

Nope, they changed how they're doing it again this year.
The 16 winners this week will be divided into pods of 4 again, and drawn randomly against 1 of the other 3 teams.

However, this time (on Thursday when they do the draw this week) they'll draw up brackets so each team will know all of their possible opponents up through the final.

I'm excited to see more from Sosa. I really dislike everything I see from Abu, but we might as well play him. I slotted Argudo into the Artur role to try and generate a little more forward movement from that spot. We'll probably see Clark there, especially since he only went 60+ against TFC. I'm fine with that too, but he'll need to turn it around and be able to go the same vs NYRB.

Martinez can't play Saturday so give him the start tomorrow.

 

Stuver is no longer on the roster, so we should expect Kempin.

There's the story about the older play-by-play guy who started talking about a pinch hitter his team could bring in--until his color guy said "I hope he has a long bat--he was sent down to the minors last week"

 

But Jahny boy likes knock out games!

 

Not gonna lie, it would be amazing to have that same "shhh" moment against the Fire in Bridgeview but were playing at home for once.

 

Lose and get this out of the way...Open Cup means nothing

 

I will be watching.. from home. [insert sad/cry face] God do I want to make this Open Cup game. I have not been to one in so many years; yet, I have some amazing (and terrible) memories from them.

Thankfully, my dad is taking Markus to the game (and two of my brothers will be there). I have at least the consolation prize that they will be in attendance to support Crew. (Also, I love the B-Squad choice, @chr1st. And the Pipa one.)

Martinez should start and not overworking Clark is a fair point maybe we see a different formation at some point during the gm, possibly 3-4-2-1?

I will continue to dislike Jahn as our primary back up striker even if he wins the clenching PK in a shootout as I predict. I don’t mind Jahn as 3rd string never play a meaningful moment back up

 

I think Martinez probably plays.

This point of view is obnoxious most years. This year, the thought of throwing away possible Columbus Crew games, is downright evil.
