Following a fairly soft schedule to begin the season, we're entering a brutal stretch of games. The scheduling god giveth and the scheduling god taketh away. Before we worry about the Atlantas and Sportings of the league, we must first contend with the mighty Revolution. The Revs have been steady through the early portion of the season. Although they haven't had the most difficult schedule, they did manage to take a win off the Wiz and got a draw out of the Pigeons. The Revs have also enjoyed good form at home. On the attack, a few different guys are bagging goals. The defense has only allowed 14 goals. This match should be a good test for our guys. I guess what I'm trying to say is... JUST WIN, BABY! Discuss.
An upside down flag is a signal for help. Whether we need help saving our club or NER needs help stopping the Massive Juggernaut rolling into Gillette remains to be seen.
We seem to rarely play well in New England. Add Friedel to the mix and I'm going to call this one a draw. Wish I could be more optimistic, but I just have a feeling that is the best we'll get out this one.
Teams are about even on PPG. Home field being what it is in MLS, I'm guessing: good guys 1 - 2 bad guys.
I really liked what I saw last week. Aside from Santos' red & some wasteful first half finishing in Seattle. The depth showed through. Drinking the Kool-Aid. Time for the A team: -----------------Steffen--------------- Afful--Mensah--Abubakar--Valenzuela ---------------Trapp-----Artur---------- Grella-----------Pipa---------Santos ----------------Golden Boot----------- 2-0 good guys. Four shutouts in a row.
Oops, forgot about that. As the least productive member of the A-team (we will call him Murdock), it should not hurt too much. Go with Martinez/Hansen.
Steffen; afful, mensah, abubakar, valenzuela; trapp, artur; hansen, higuain, argudo; zardes. Also, NE commentators mentioned that Pipa has created more chances than anyone else in the league this year. Not bad for an old guy.
Back to syncing the YouTube Crew audio with NER video. We've had 1 game with the Columbus feed on MLS Live this year.
Sports Boston: a network I would never choose to watch (except for being forced to by MLS). I am not up to your level, hardhead.
The Razor looks empty. Then again, it’s a mammoth NFL stadium. Because, you know, founding teams *have* to have new downtown stadiums because urban core...
With the new record for the farthest into your own half of the field and still called for offside - Zardes (yes I know it is possible but I’ve never seen someone 25 yards on their half called for offside before!)
I get what youre trying to say, but comparing the crew's situation to the rev's isn't very helpful. We DO need a new stadium in a prime location to be a viable franchise in this league. The revs can plug along in foxboro for as long as Robert Kraft is happy with that situation, and because of the stadium situation there, it really doesn't hurt MLS's bottom line a team all.
Ball was bouncing on the turf which had something to do with it. Still I feel bad for air traffic control in the area. I’m sure he just set off some alarms in their control room...
Me, incredulous: “how did Higs miss that?!?!” Markus: “It went over the goal, mama. Watch it again.” Hahaha.
On Pipa's bounce: that was a tough shot bouncing on turf in the rain. Still wish it had been on frame. On the foul to Afful: clearly a red card. Should have used VAR to see it.
What a ********ing joke this ref is. Clear tackle of Zardes goes uncalled, no card for an intentional handball and then he doesn’t give a red for that nasty tackle. Why have VAR if you aren’t going to use it?
