I have sat here for two hours, and for as long as I can remember, I have never seen Ravoz play so crappy. He was constantly shown whining when he was called offside, and he blew his chance to win the game. I cant belive that he could come out at this point in the season and be such a dud. I am totally disappointed, what a disgrace.

    FT: 1-1

Man of the match: Nat Borchers--give the man the bubbly, he shut us down. Didn't really miss Fraser, did they?

I don't think Williams was the right choice for OT sub--we needed some urgency. We got very tired up there.

An away draw is okay, I would have taken it before the match, but at this point, it feels a bit empty. We shoulda had this one...

I agree Razov was crap. Everybody looked a bit off--rusty after the long break and unused to the conditions are decent excuses, but they still could have tried. We better get ourselves some motivation come playoff time, because everybody else is getting pumped up. Soldier Field return might give us that, though. Hope we don't play 4-4-2 there, though, because we suck at it...

    "Climbs the Ladder"--36th Minute

Can we all spring for a Hooked on Phonics kit for Ante so he can learn how to spell S-I-T-T-E-R?

I swear if I hear "...and Borchers stops [insert Fire player here]" or "...and Borchers breaks up the pass again" I will shoot someone. Where's Ruiz hang out these days?

    Nat Borchers--great defender, ugly man.
    Jim Curtin--great defender, ugly man.
    Coincidence? Probably.

Ante seems to have his up games and his down games. This was definitely one of his down games, but they all looked as if the had been rode hard and put up wet.

Oh, well. A tie is better than a loss.

Borchers had a great game but if we had someone who could make a great pass we wouldn't have had to settle for a draw. Great shot by chung but I wish Thornton would cheat more to the near post on dead ball situations like that. Kind of lucky goal by us off of marsch considering all the chances we had and the man advantage late. That altitude does take it out of you.I still don't undertand why bolanos couldn't have played the last 15 minutes. If he is working on his fitness what better way than late in a game. I guess we we finally see him Saturday.Razov just has trouble controlling the ball.

Well, it would have been tough seeing as how he was sitting across the table from me at the Abbey. Interpolating from Peter's introduction of him, it seems to still be a fitness thing, and with limited subs on the bench, I know I'd rather have a 90-minutes fit Andy Williams than a 20- or 30-minutes fit Bolaños. Especially with altitude.

I know he was at the Abbey pub instead of Denver and since Andy williams didn't do a thing out there I would rather have seen bolanos for even 10 minutes.

A couple of thoughts about the game:

    1. Borchers may have had a great game, and he would probably play great for the fire, I don't think he would look all that "good" in a Fire Jersey. What's with the 70s porn-star hair?

    2. Carrieri pisses me off.

    3. It's unbelievable to read the comments the last couple of weeks about how the soccer players tore up Soldier Field. Did you see how torn up the Colorado field was last night? Did you see where the worst of it was? Right down the middle. The funny thing is, the field was also torn up on the football sidelines, where the behemoths are just standing around!

It's not the soccer players that are ruining the fields.

The Bears need to attribute their "success" to something... I don't hear the Broncos complaining...

    ¡Bolaños!

If it came down to Andy Williams (right there on the sideline) vs. Bolaños (in Chicago), I would rather see Bolaños annouced as the sub and have him do the best he could from a bar in Chicago while the rest of the team played 10 - 11 in Denver. I have a feeling that might have been more helpful than Andy Williams actually subbing in the game.

...even if Bolaños couldn´t help much from 600 miles away, it still would have been totally sweet.

    2. Razov had a terrible evening.

    Two things went wrong yesterday.

First, our passing in the attacking third was pure crap. We couldn't hit the broadside of a barn.

Second, Ante Razov played like crap. On a night when one is playing so badly you'd like to at least see a little more fire in his belly, a little more effort. I thought most everybody at least worked really hard and that they were going for a win. Everybody but Razov. That's not to turn this into a anti vs pro Razov debate. I'm just talking about this one game. Very crappy performance Ante (but great heal flick that almost went through!)

How many roads must a man walk down before you can call him a man?

How many times does Perez have to suck before Dave plants his ass on the plank?

I don't think anybody would argue that Perez is probably the least skilled player on the team (or something close to it) but really we didn't have a lot of options with CJ and Mapp both out. And Perez wasn't at all the reason we didn't come home with 3 points. He's very one dimensional but he did what was asked, for the most part.

What killed me was the 5-minute discourse on human physiology that seemed much more important than telling us who the **** Williams came in for.

That's what I was talking about. though, the whole "Barn Burners" thing certainly didn't help. I need to mail Jacko a big sign that says "WE ARE SECTION 8".

    Re: Re: folk song redub

Actually, I was quite surprised by how well he played last night. I think he mis-trapped one ball the whole night. His passing was good and he played well defensively.

Ante did fumble the ball a couple of times. Maybe he caught a cold or something on the plane. And Nate should've passed the last time he was heading toward goal.

Evan, how hard is it to cross the ball without sending it to the opposite touch line? I like the way you play, but this habit is killing me!

The Andy Williams experiment is over. Mr. Giveaway is not what we needed in OT. Give me an inexperienced youngster. Give me Bolanos even for 10 minutes. Of course, I expect Williams to be responsible for two goals against the Scum in the USOC Championship.

This game has me somewhat worried. The Rapids are a decent team, even with one man down and three of their first-stringers benched. If it wasn't for Jesse's swivel hip and an out-of-position AR, we could've lost this one.

So what's going on with our boys? And is Dave being too conservative during this stretch run? I don't know. And is the game an indication of how we could do in the playoffs against a Rapids or Clash team?

Whiney bitch doesn't begin to descibe him. He's got talent, no doubt, but he never shuts up. He makes Razov look like a mute.

    My Couple of Thoughts:
    1. Whitfield, take some power off the crosses man.
    2. Perez, I held my breath everytime he got the ball. He didn't play terrible.
    3. Razov just had a bad night.
    4. Everybody looked like they knew he wasn't playing well, because it was just a big "Let's get the ball to Ralph" party in the last third of the field.
    5. Spectacular shot by Chung.
    6. I hate Borchers.
    7. I can't decided whether Frasier deserved red or not. Definetly a card, but...(any refs care to weigh in?)
    8. Andy Williams should only play against the Metros.
    9. What's with the no-sub thing Sarachans been up to lately? The only time he brings guys off the bench is for an injury.
    10. Cariari needs to shut the hell up and play, Chung is a workaholic, and Roberts was unimpressive.

    We blew it.

We had plenty of chances to win this match. I don't know if we were over confident or CO is better than everyone thinks. I believe that the Rapids were overachieving with 3 players missing, especially no Spencer.

Beasely was solid and Ralph was his outstanding self. Great save by Zach.

Looking forward to beating LA AGAIN and raising the US Open Cup over the MetroStars.

    Go Fire!

    1. Everyones first touch on the ball was horrid last night, don't know if it was the condition of the field or not. 2 or 3 fast breaks were killed because of bad first touches.
    2. Ante sucked.
    3. Damani got his ass kicked last night. Everytime I looked he was on the ground rolling around, or bleeding....
    4. Jesse Marsch was way too excited that his butt scored a goal.
    5. Their are going to be some heavy legs in Naperville on Saturday. Use your subs, Dave!

    Re: We blew it.

We (colorado) played poorly last night. I wouldn't call that performance overachieving. We couldn't connect passes. We missed point-blank shots on goal. Horrible, unexcusable performance. Considering we had 3 starters missing and 1 red card however we did performs acceptably but by no means "overachieving"..
    Yuck!!

How often is it that an ass scores a goal? Ok, Franchino puts some in each year, but...

Okay, you really, REALLY need to get over this. He did say Section 8. He also gave BB1871 credit for what a lot of what Section 8 does. That is still historically accurate, despite the last year and a half. And both Jack and Kenny were exactly right when they attributed "Damante Razalph" and "We're Still In Denial" to the Barnburners, because both of those came from me.
