Cucho Hernandez has become a bit of a penalty merchant for his club in the past month. In MLS he’s scored 14 goals, 5 from the penalty spot, and in the Leagues Cup, he scored 3 goals, and 2 from the spot. He is by far the team’s best player, and the Columbus Crew have been using him as a nine and a half really since they sold their natural #10 to Saudi Arabia. When he is the focal point, he really dominates, I believe he leads the entire league in shots with 131 (Per FBref). Now I know zero about how he is with Colombia or how they may use him, but he for sure is someone who is very ball-dominate, and I do think that he would do better being able to float around into pockets of space. He leads the highest scoring team in the league in both goals and assists, He 100% deserves a look, at least.
anyone been following Borrero's play this year after his injury? Solid player who I think can also fit into the MF for our NT. Hoping he's doing well again.
looks like he's already played 8 matches this season so he must be back. Revolution’s Noel Buck and Dylan Borrero named to MLS 22 Under 22 presented by BODYARMOR a list of the top 22 players in MLS under the age of 22 – as voted by on by an expert panel consisting of select MLS staff and MLS Season Pass talent. https://www.revolutionsoccer.net/ne...med-to-mls-22-under-22-presented-by-bodyarmor
"Borrero, 21, lands on the 22 Under 22 list despite making only eight appearances to open the 2023 MLS campaign before sustaining a season-ending knee injury in April. The Colombian winger scored two goals with one assist early this season, giving him five goals and three helpers across 20 MLS appearances to date, 14 of which were starts."
haha, obviously my reading comprehension needs to be improved. I forgot the wacky MLS season starts in spring !
I was wondering if you knew about the MLS season schedule dates. No worries. I wish he was healthy though cause I like what I saw from him the little time he has played for Colombia.
“I have to say he’s been really, really good in terms of consistency. That’s why, for me, Cucho is the best modern forward in the league,” Nancy said. “He’s able to score goals, but also able to assist and also is able to help us defend. Yup. Leo Castro could not defend or assist at age 24 so I think that argument goes down the toilet.
