Still deciding what I think about Andres Gomez, the former Millos winger. He is probably the fastest player Colombia has, but his ball control is horrendous.

Here he orchestrates all 3 of RSL's gols last night:

I think he's awesome. He has some limitations like every player, but as long as he continues creating goalscoring chances and scoring I can let some stuff slide.

We may need a guy like that off the bench running like crazy and putting in good low crosses.

There is a niche role for that in qualifying if he consistently plays well at club level.

That's exactly the thing. He's barely creating or scoring. These are his first this season.

It started standing out to me most once Oscar Cortez started playing in his place for Millos. That kid is constantly taking shots, getting into the box, and setting up his teammates.

Gomez is the kind of guy who could be an incredible player if he had better concentration.

Millonarios has easily replaced their young stars since Harold Mosquera, Rivaldo, Gomez and now Cortes, which is why I think their great moment is closely related to the comfort of Gamero's group, yet they always seem to be the best players on the team... They are undoubtedly very explosive players, but it has been a constant that they are not as good outside of Millonarios.
In the case of Cortes, I see a differential because he is a player who relies more on his shooting skills than dribbling... which can make him more prone to reinvent himself and contribute more in different positions....not just as a winger

Santiago Moreno with two assists in the Timbers come back win over the Sounders in the PNW derby... One to Dairon Asprilla who scored a gorgeous chilena.

    Just putting this here:

Did not have the greatest of games last night but he scored an opportunistic goal in a Non-FIFA friendly.

Can't make this up. I don't follow any other selecciones to be able to confirm this, but I feel no other country has injury woes the way Colombia does.

On a positive note, Yerson Mosquera scored a gol in the same match.

Is that guy Carlos Terán good? I saw some MLS guy saying he'd assume he'd go to Europe at some point.

I think I remember him from either Huila or Envigado but not sure

Borrero's coach said he is out for all of 2023. Terrible.

That also means he will miss the Preolimpico. That's a big loss both for the team and for himself.

There's always a chance that he might have been denied anyway by MLS/ New England but we will never know now.

Doubt it. Atuesta was the main man of LAFC at the time and they let him leave.

It's out of season for them and increases their sale value.

Yup, that is why I said there is a chance but we will never know.
It also could have depended on if they had an offer for him and other factors.

Just wanted to give an update on how Cucho Hernandez has been doing with the Columbus Crew. I haven’t read this thread all the way so sorry if I repeat anything.

The Crew play a 3-4-3, with two attacking midfielders and one striker. Cucho has been playing as the striker but seems to be floating and drifting all around the attacking third to try to link up/get involved. He is in a bit of a scoring slump, scoring twice in the last 16 league games going back to last season, but due to his movement, he has been able to get in to nice pockets of space to play through balls. He was hurt in the beginning of the season so he’s only played seven league games out of 13, but he’s tied for second on the team in assist with three. my only gripe with him this year is he seems to be shooting a majority of his shots from 16+ yards out, and tries to put the team on his shoulders when it’s not really necessary.

Here are his two assists in his past two games.

    .

    Second angle of this assist:
