I used to live 10 miles north of Mankato, and taught as an adjunct at Mankato State, as it called itself then. Stuff like this has been happening there for close to a decade, ever since the school built a bunch of cheap apartments off campus, but close to the football stadium, in a way that created a population density to be even greater than it was in dorms, only with no possiblity of monitering the area as closely. Hence, wayyyyy to much underage alcohol consumption and the violence that accompanies it. The "funny" thing about the article is that no one cared so long as it was just a few drunk kids beating on each other or even the occasional sober passer-by. But now that it happens so close to homecoming and other people hear about it... suddenly it's a problem
whats up with all the riots in football...shouldnt happen but thats life right, maybe they like to fight, like me, haha
These college students should know that the way to deal with school-related stress is not violence - it's weed and sex.
