No joy for either team as they played 90 + 2 OT's to go 0-0. 0-0 was a fair result with Furman getting a few chances and USC letting too many balls roll through the PA. USC had no creativity today and one would think that at least they would try to finish crosses but they would NOT send enough players forward to do it. They would have won if they just would have a guy at near post and especially one at the far post. USC played the whole game as if they were trying not to lose.

Furman played a bit better and had, again, more chances. What I was really happy to see was Clint Dempsey doing some cross field dribbles. They tore up USC's shape and opened up things for some good crosses BUT Furman's wings seemed hesitant. It's as if they were waiting just a split second too long to send the cross in.

Oh and the referee sucked. He didn't even run a diagonal, rather he just stayed on the side of the field opposite the press box.
