Right - we had a kid suddenly start doing back passes. The problem for the parents was that it was straight to the goalie from 2 yds away while under pressure. The coach never pulled him or yelled at him. (And the coach is not shy about doing either.) I never asked, but once I calmed down, I figured he was happy the kid started thinking about depth at all and was willing to throw away a win today for a better team tomorrow.
