It looked like he was yelling, "I'm back! I'm back! I'm back!"

I'm confused by this. Dempsey scored that fantastic goal, continually plays brilliantly off the bench for Fulham, including wonderful play this past Sunday against Newcastle, where he looked better than he ever has, yet Zoltan Gera (a very good player, don't get me wrong) continues to start over him. I noticed, while watching the Newcastle game on FSC, that the commentators said something to effect of "Gera has been invisible there on the right side this game." Then, just about a minute later, Dempsey comes on for Gera and sets up both a successful penalty and wins miraculous ball and sets up a chance (unsuccessful due to a poor shot by Nevland) on goal for Fulham. Is it just me (and it very well might be) that Dempsey is not getting the playing time he deserves? He has proven his worth at defensive play, as well as attacking, which is more than one can say about Gera. I really hope Hodgson recognizes Dempsey's efforts and form and starts him this coming saturday. We'll see.

It'd be nice if Roy could figure out a way to get both of them on the field. There are others out there that just haven't been up to par...

I was watching the "Fan Zone" version of Fulham vs Newcastle and the guy cheering for Fulham had said from the start of the game that Dempsey should get more playing time. Then as soon as he came in and set up Andy Johnson for the penalty call, that guy shouted something like "see what I mean, you give Dempsey a few minutes and he makes an impact in the game!"

He's a yank though and apparently nobody from over here can play football better than anybody from across the pond. No matter how many times Dempsey makes amazing plays or changes games, he will just never be quite as good as other, less effective players:rolleyes:

Get in there Deuce, at least I believe in you!

NOBODY can say that about Clint after today's effort! Gera can rot on the bench now..no way is he getting back on the pitch any time soon!

I ALWAYS HAVE and ALWAYS WILL believe in Clint Dempsey!!!

    GO DEUCE!
