I really don't think he's worth DP money. He wasn't starting for Racing last year.

He could do good things--especially accurate shot to the low corners from the top of the box and knows how to finish 1 v. 1 with the keeper--but if it's for DP money, it must be just barely DP money.

I've heard several comments like this (mostly in the N&A forum). It's got me kind of nervous, but at the same time, this isn't a permanent DP spot for the rest of Wizards history or anything. We have the DP spot, might as well use it. If CL doesn't work out in a few years... boot him and get someone else. Right now, we have a pressing need for forwards and he sounds like a fairly pleasing short-term fill.

I'll judge his worth after he plays - Angel wasn't looking so good in the EPL before his move across the pond. Yes, I know it was the EPL - so there's a huge difference, but the point remains... I believe people were questioning Blanco's potential as well...

We'll see how it goes - as you said here, it's not as if this is a 30 year contract until he's 63 or anything... maybe this is just a step towards Messi for the open of the stadium in 2010...

According to the American Soccer Show on CSRN, they just said that one of their sources has told them that Lopez is in KC this week either talking with the club or training with them...

That seems surprising considering the team is traveling to Argentina in a few days. Has anybody seen an unidentified player working out with the team lately?

Oz City had a practice report from Monday and didn't mention anything. So if he is in town it's probably just for talks, not for training.

Didn't CO recently say nothing was final until he walked off a plane in KC? If he's here, DON'T LET HIM LEAVE until he signs on the dotted line! :D

Seriously though, I can see him wanting to check out the stadium situation and the training facilities before signing. I just hope CAB doesn't turn him off...

Looks like he's very good 1v1 with the keeper in these. Also very good at making the break away and freeing himself from defenders - just like Eddie did. Looks like he's exactly what this team is missing right now. Those are also some very impressive stats. The totals for his league clubs are 515 games and 151 goals.

the thing that i liked when he played with america is that he is not selfish. He either scored or passed to another player to score but he never took bad shots. he plays kind of like messi because he HAD great speed and moves

(The Louse?):D is 33 maybe abit off the boil as of right now, but we are a "small market"team playing on a baseball field, not too many international players want that. If Lopez comes to score goals and not use KC as a "retirement home" would be great! (nice resume though!)

Excellent. Now that Racing jersey I bought for $9 at the Nike outlet store may get upgraded to my first team wardrobe, and not just be a kickaround jersey.

Good to see it's moving along hopefully they get it done pretty quick, the more time with the team the better.
