Well, the same thing I said about Podolski goes for Gomez.

FC Bayern Muenchen is not a place where you get to play simply because of what your name is or what you've done in the past.

You have to prove yourself daily at Bayern.

I guess Tymo and Gomez aren't doing that.

As the Germans say, "Selber Schuld......."

Maybe they should have spent the money elsewhere then, I know Uli wants him to start but Van Gaal disagrees. What he did during the time he played he score more than Podolski did all season, and apparently the others who can't score start over him.

    What would you prefer?

I am interested in seeing this, just wish we would have had a game to break Ailtontop in prior to thrusting into a sink-or-swim game away to Bourdeaux.

I just pray we play better than we did on the weekend, that was a joke of a game.

I'd like to see us try Gomez and Toni starting up top, see how they work off each other, because they both have good instincts and if they both play to their potential they would do really well as a pair(not to mention we'd have at least 3 giants, with DvB, in the box for corners and whatnot). I like Lahm at right back and Pranjic at left better than I like Altintop on the right. Pranjic does give up stupid balls on the attack, but he hustles to get back and can generally at least keep them from getting in an easy cross. Altintop looks very selfish lately, and I am kind of put off by him at the moment(not that I can think of anyone else to put on the right midfield), but who knows, maybe that'll go away in the defense.

I guess my ideal lineup would be:

    --------------Butt---------------

    --Lahm--DvB--Badstuber--Prajic--

    -----------VanBommel-----------
    ---Altintop-----------Schweini---
    ------------Muller---------------

    --------Toni------Gomez--------

Doubt the lineup will look anything like that, but i'd like to see it.

All that being said, I see this as a chance for us to regain confidence and form. I have it at 2-1 for the men from Munich. Maybe a late goal from Toni to take the lead. Can't wait for some more Champions League action.

As I recall, Gomez was playing regularly when the scoring "drought" started......

And if "Uli" doesn't trust what his coach is doing, "Uli" can sack him too, can't he?

Uefa.com has the official lineup as follows:

    Butt

    Altintop - DVB - Badstuber - Lahm

    MVB - Tymo - Schweini

    Mueller

    Klose - Toni

    Let's hope for the best!!!

    -Pranjic
    -Gorlitz:eek:
    -Gomez
    -Sosa

I like that Ailtontop and Von Bommel will combine on the right. They seemed last year to have a good understanding.

And we know from past experience the tried-and-true relationship Schweini and Lahm have on the left.

This will be an interesting lineup to watch play.

No, it was a performance issue, not neccessarily a scoring one.

According to Sat 1, it's a 4-3-2-1 ("christmas tree") formation.

    ---------------Butt----------------
    Altintop-Van Buyten-Badstuber-Lahm
    ---Van Bommel--Tymo--Schweini---
    ----------Klose----Müller-----------
    ---------------Toni----------------

I bet Tymo will play on the right and MvB in the center.

edit: I was wrong, it actually does look like the christmas tree formation

Great tackle by Klose (I think), could have become a dangerous situation.

Bayern seem to be the more attacking minded team so far.

Yup, so far Tymo is actually in the middle. I'm shocked.

Bayern scores after a corner! Looked like an own goal. 0-1!

Great corner by Badstuber (I think).
