Newcastle appear to be determined to sign Distin.

Newcastle's determination to sign Manchester City defender Sylvain Distin is expected to see them offer Laurent Robert in exchange, as long as they can lure Luis Boa Morte to Tyneside from Fulham. (Guardian)

But he has formed a good partnership with Dunne. So the club cannot afford to let him go.

Charlton are interested in bringing French striker Guy Luyindula to the club on a possible loan deal from Marseille. (The Sun)
But Manchester City may give unhappy striker Nicolas Anelka a way out of the club by using him in a swap deal with the French club for Luyindula. (Daily Mirror)

I've heared offers about GBP7,5mill to 8,0 million and he'll be leaving. Another one of Keegan's mistakes.

And another one wants to go now too:

Ben Thatcher is ready to quit Manchester City and sign for Fulham after off-field problems. (Daily Mirror)

But he can go, as Jordan is better.

Aside from the fact that we are selling Anelka for less than the asking price, it's really not that bad. We tied Arsenal without him, we beat Crystal Palace without him. He didn't play that many games this year and we did okay. Don't worry about it.

As long as we keed James, SWP, Dunn, Mills, Fowler we will be okay. At least we won't be relegated.

If we sell SWP and Anelka, Man City can probably pay off their debt and start all over again. It's a very popular team and city to play for, we will find people. Just have to shelter a couple of losing seasons that's all. As long as we stay away from relegation, it's all good.

Manchester City boss Kevin Keegan has agreed to sell Ben Thatcher to Fulham follwing two robberies at the defender's home. (The Sun)

    Good riddance!!

Is manchester city a tough neighbourhood or something? I suppose a guy like Ben Thatcher would live in a high priced upscaled fancy condo with top securities, how can they rob him?

    More transfer nonsense:
Manchester City boss Kevin Keegan is set to make a surprise move for Spanish left-back Juanfran. Currently at Besiktas, the defender would replace Ben Thatcher. (Daily Mirror)

Just in case anyone is interested.

Funny he is seen as a replacement for Thatcher, seeing as most City fans rate Jordan - out injured - above Thatcher anyhow. And as far as I know Jordan's contract ends this summer.
The wonderful mind of Kevin Keegan. What a manager.
    :(

    Re: Musampa!

Just hope he does a good job. Seems that they were quite eager to offload him. So half a season to see how he does for City, with the option of signing him thereafter. Does not seem to bad a deal at the moment.

And then the usual on Anelka:
Manchester City's Nicolas Anelka is poised to complete a move to Turkish side Fenerbahce. (The Times)

    go! Go!! GO!!!

I've been hearing that it may be Keane on loan, but I'd rather they get Bellamy, Keane is a bit of a joke.

Manchester City are set to ship French centre-half David Sommeil to Nice, (The People), and offer Bobby Robson a return to football if boss Kevin Keegan leaves. (Sunday Express, Sunday Mirror)

Sommeil is pacey, but too small for the position he tends to prefer. He's hardly played so that would be good to see him go.

    Bobby Robson?

Christian Negouai has joined Coventry on a month's loan from Manchester City.
The 27-year-old recently converted from midfield to attack while playing in City's reserves.
He is set to go straight into the Sky Blues squad for their FA Cup fourth round match with Newcastle at St James' Park on Saturday.
The former Charleroi player has made just two appearances for Kevin Keegan's men this season and was sent off in the Boxing Day defeat at Everton.

    -----------------------------------------------------
time to start shipping out players who have not performed. Let's hope someone takes him permanently.

Haha. I would love to see Robson take the position. Not for practical purposes, but he would be entertaining. Actually, Newcastle did better under him than they're doing now, maybe it wouldnt be too bad. If he doesnt die, that is...

    I missed this departure!!!
    http://www.mcfc.co.uk/article.asp?article=252968&Title=Waterreus+set+for+Rangers
City keeper Ronald Waterreus is poised for a move north of the Border to join Rangers.
The two clubs have agreed an undisclosed six figure sum for the former Holland international.

The thirty four year old is set to agree personal terms with the SPL club and complete his move today.

The former PSV keeper joined City in August after Geert De Vlieger tore his a hamstring in a pre-season friendly at Wolves.

He made two appearances for City in the Blues short lived Carling Cup campaign and deputised for David James in City's Premiership campaign.

He agreed a short term deal with the Blues which had been due to run out in December.

He extended his contract until the end of this season but is now set to be playing his football in the Scottish Premier League.

Rangers have been on the look out for a replacement for their number one keeper Stefan Kloss.

The German, who was his club's Player of the Year last season, has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a cruciate ligament injury.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------
But seeing as Weaver could be coming back, City would have had too many keepers and it's strikers the team are short of.

Yeah, we had some ridiculous number of keepers...5, I think. Wattereus wasn't exactly in his prime anyway.
