great result for utd although i felt it was on the cards after aberdeen's performance against hamilton and the half ass excuse that calderwood came up with in defence of the performance.

i wonder if californiaalbanach will manage to make it back for the final.

    tommorows the "big" game..

hampden park, glasgow - 1500 gmt.

both teams have been consistent in their performances lately. rangers are on step one of what would be a sensational quadruple. nacho novo and charlie adam are suspended, steven naismith is cup-tied. dundee united are looking for the last shot at silverware this season for them. jim o'brien, danny grainger, and danny swanson are cup-tied for united.

the last time united won a national cup was when they defeated rangers in the 1994 scottish cup final.

noel hunt scores for united! :D

a great hit from him saw mcgregor parry the shot. buaben got to the loose ball and chipped it back in from the angle. de vries flicked it on with the outside of the foot. hunt faked the shot and went past mcgregor. looked like broadfoot that tangled with him at the base of the post but hunt forced it home.

    HA HA.

How could the "Quintissential British Team" lose such a goal?

In seriousness, Dundee Utd are playing really well and fully deserve the lead. Rangers are playing poorly.

rangers had one three or four minute spell when ferguson hit one straight at zaluska but apart from that united have been on top and fully deserve to be ahead.

european exertions look to be taking their toll. if united keep the tempo high then they have a great chance.

just listen to those boos. :)

half time whistle came at the wrong time for united. they were pressing for a second. rangers were hanging on in the last few minutes.

This is the first time I've seen Dundee Utd this season and I'm quite impressed. Their big boys at the back are dealing with everything that Rangers throw into the box. They look like they have quite a few tidy midfield players too and big De Vries is a great target man.

    I think they'll win it.

    why isn't that a pen??

cuellar gets caught trying to play the ball out of his box. kalvenes reads it and blocks it. as he moves onto the ball cuellar just deliberately grabs him and hauls him back.

    stonewaller for me.

    Absolutely.

*Scoff* Just seen Darcheville miss. It sounds like the Rangers fans thought it was going in.

darcheville almost equalises on the break after a threatening united throw in. zaluska gets an all important touch to divert it for a corner.
