This is amazing considering Minnesota United is around 7,000.

In USL Sacramento was the gold standard with 9,500 so I think putting it in that perspective is better. Also this marks an increase for 5,500 last year for Cincinnati. Beating our 17,000 average is looking pretty good right now.

I dont know anything about real estate in Cincinnati. Does anybody have any idea where possible sites may be for a new stadium? Im interested to scope them out on the map.

FC Cincinnati received support from Cincinnati mayor John Cranley to close the gap in funding for infrastructure work -- roads, parking, improvements -- it needs to build the soccer stadium it deems essential to win an MLS expansion bid.

FC Cincinnati -- which appears to be in a three-way fight with Sacramento and Nashville for the two MLS expansion teams to be awarded in mid-December -- has proposed building a 21,000-seat stadium and paying for it itself. But it says it needs help paying for $70 million-$75 million in infrastructure work.

the league has revealed four finalists for the first two expansion spots, which will be announced before the end of the year:

    Cincinnati
    Detroit
    Nashville
    Sacramento

The finalists will make presentations to the league's Expansion Committee and Commissioner Don Garber on Dec. 6, and the MLS Board of Governors meeting on Dec. 14 will include additional discussions on expansion with ownership representatives from every team.

FC Cincinnati is proposing to replace Cincinnati Public Schools’ Stargel Stadium with a new high school stadium in the southwest corner of Ezzard Charles Drive and John Street and build its new soccer stadium at the current Stargel site behind Robert A. Taft Information Technology High School.

The club’s president, Jeff Berding, confirmed the proposal, which has been widely discussed in Cincinnati’s business and political community for months, to the school board on Monday night.

FC Cincinnati under the leadership of Owner Carl Lindner III and GM/President Jeff Berding checked all the necessary boxes for admission into Major League Soccer (MLS) on Monday.

Beginning with last week’s land swap approval with Cincinnati Public Schools, Lindner and Berding completed the necessary public-private partnerships to build the club’s stadium in Ohio. Hamilton County (parking and infrastructure), the Cincinnati Port Authority (stadium ownership), the West End Community Council (community benefits agreement) and the City of Cincinnati (infrastructure) have all committed to the plan and have helped complete the most difficult piece of the MLS puzzle.

While the official deals are pending an invitation to the nation’s top soccer league, the coalition supporting the deal is impressive and should stand out to the league. Many major civic groups are backing the deal. Local labor unions, West End Community leaders, and even members of both sides of the political aisle have come together to continue the city’s renaissance.

    1. should FCC keep its reserve team as is - like LA and RBNY?
    2. should FCC move its "B" team to another city - like Seattle and ATL?
    3. should FCC have an affiliate team - like almost everybody else?
    4. should FCC have a women's team?
