They do this because Tijuana is an actual viable pathway to the pro's. As we sign more homegrown players then they will want to stay. the problem is the system. We have no set system for the first team so our youth teams are disconnected. Barcelona youth train to play like barcelona first team, same with guadalajara etc. Until we establish a good product on the field to emulate we will continue to see this I think

I agree however i think it also has to do with their success they have made in the past 3 years that lures players to Xolos. Chivas USA is in trouble on & off the field & the club has no stability.

Excellent. that USL team will only help our youth transition to the first team

March_, do you know if the Chivas USA U-23 will join or field a team in the USL league?

Do you think Jose Gomez from U-23 Chivas USA will get offered a contract?

My contact spoke to Chivas USA's Sacha Van der Most who informed him that Chivas USA is planning on fielding a team in the USL next year. A team that would allow U18 - U 23s transition to the 1st team. I'd image that means that they will keep the U23s in the CSL.

I also read this on BG. I doubt its anything serious.

"Choco" is one of the best players in the U23s & I really hope they over look his size & offer him a contract.

    Cool.

He is good. Signing local talent gets more fan interest.Believe me.
They should take a look at Enrique Cardenas out of UC Irvine. who was not drafted at all. He is talented and his style of play fits Chivas USA.

Not really sure which is the best thread to ask this. But I want to ask how is Eriq Zavaleta doing? He been playing well?

I'm aware of two youth players Anthony Dhelming and Kedrian Ramos, are they doing alright?

He's make some progress but has been playing in defense, and has made costly mistakes.
