    :D Good call!

While he's way over the top, his openly one-eyed view is very entertaining to listen to. It's pure entertainment rather than any informed punditry.

The Guangzhou AFC CL match is on CCTV 5 right now. Conca just got subbed out in the 70th minute, looked very pissed about being taken out of the game.

WOW.. what a crazy crazy crazy ending to the game. Jeonbuk went down to ten men with about 20-minutes left in the game. Guangzhou came so close to scoring a few times, then somehow Jeonbuk score, then earn a PK and score again. 3-1 final score... can't believe that finish

conca made an outburst on sina weibo that he disapproves lee jang-soo's decision to sub him.

conca faces one match ban and monetary penalty.

lee jang-soo said he is the decider and his decisions should not be doubted.
he also said there are many players who won the league last year, such as li jianhua and wu pingfeng, didnt play much this year and they didnt bitch.

jang-soo also mentioned the ban is fair, regardless you are star players or not (zheng zhi, gao lin got punished too)

Holy shit, they banned Conca for 9 games and fined him €120,000.

That is HUGE!!, even bigger than Suarez's. In my opinion, perhaps too harsh of a punishment. His future at the club now seems hazy. No player is going to be happy after reviving such a harsh punishment, and sad considering how much money and effort Guangzhou spent trying to obtain Conca in the first place.

Something like 3-5 games ban and a $30,000 would have been more suitable I think.

xu jiaying, the chairman of evergrande, said the following:
"considering this is the first offense of conca, i believe 9 games are not strict enough. disrespecting the coach is also disrespecting the boss (referring to himself)."

the chinese media gonna brew up more news about "conca want to go back to brazil" news soon.

9 games is a lot... they're really sabotaging their own chances in the acl with this... conca is a far more influential player for them then barrios will be (if that's the reason they're trying to rile him up).

I agree. Guangzhou still need him for the last group match which is going to be all in. This group of death is truly a group of death. All 4 of these teams deserve to advance, and if had been in separate groups, would have been semi-final quality.

Then following that, if they do qualify, they will need him for the Quarter Final match too. Because ACL quarter final matches are single knockouts, there will be even more pressure on to ensure there is no set piece 2-1 lose.

barrios isn't arriving until june (and he will still need time to gel with the team).
the decisive match between guangzhou and buriram will be on may 15th.
it will be an away match for guangzhou.

if guangzhou beats buriram = qualify.
if guangzhou drew buriram (while jeonbuk beats kashiwa) = qualify.
if guangzhou drew buriram (while jeonbuk draws kashiwa) = qualify due to goal difference.
mission is not impossible, but without conca, i can only see a draw.

news reports say lee jang-soo was asking for only two-match ban for conca, xu jiaying, the chairman disapproved the request and banned conca for nine matches instead.

if anyone still remembers deng zhuoxiang, the dude finally did a surgery on his leg.
deng has recurring problem, and he never had a surgery on it (citing that a surgery would make him be absent for half a season), but he gave in.
jiangsu sainty paid all the operation expense for deng, including the flight to germany.
the club also sent yang chen (former china striker who starred in germany) to go with deng.

here's a picture of deng's "broken bone pieces" from rong hao's weibo (rong hao and deng are really friends)

Wow. Conca being banned for 9 games really does hurt Guangzhou. I know they have to punish him... but maybe just a game or two and a fine.. but 9?? For speaking out.. not even a physical attack. Is this for AFC or League matches?

Another question about Guangzhou Evergrande... in their (home) uniforms.. I see that there are no names on the back -- just numbers. Why is this?
