    China launched a $586B economic stimulus plan in next two years to secure a 8-9% economic growth. If you consider China's trade surplus is $250B at 2007, this is just a sign that China counts the foreign trade surplus out in growth equation.

    This stimulus package includes 10 major areas, with those highlights:

    --119 high speed electric powered trains between all major cities in China;

    --Low priced and affordable houses for all low-mid class;

    --National health care system covered everyone in 2010;

    --New roads, bridges, and airports to link all rural villages;

    --Green energy innovations;

    Just make sure this new demand and market will be closed for whoever against China back on Tibet riot time. haha. :p

    Iceland asked China's help for $4B, a packet change. Well, what Bjork did in China and that time all Irelanders supported her. LOL.

    How are things in Tibet? We don't hear much about them in MSM anymore. There was good amount of coverage as of just a few months ago.

    Are the folks in Tibet safe and sound now?

    Not too much. Apparently government's focus is still on economic development and improve the living standard of mass. The control of "troublemakers" (some Lamas) are definately up.

    There was an arrest of 4 lamas who tried to blow some building up WITH the intelligence supplied by US Embassy in China (apparently a signal that US will not support any terror act in exile Tibetans).

    Originally "troublemakers" think that Chinese central government is afraid of Western pressures, so they can gain a free hand to do whatever they do. But time changed, anyone in Beijing shows any softness toward this issue will find out he will be out of power very soon by doing so.

    I would say that as long as Dalai Lama still alive, he probably has enough influence to generate some more small riots. But not big one.

    The alleged agreement to talk with the Dalai Lama was nothing but a tactical measure in order to appease the critics/protesters before the start of the Olympic Games (how predicted by some experts). :rolleyes: China obviously isn't really interested in any dialogue with the Dalai Lama and in conceding more autonomy to the Tibetans ... but let's wait up if the Chinese government won't regret this in the future.

    At least you can be sure that the world won't forget the Tibetans' fate & cause.

    Rather it was to give Europe a parachute to come down from the moral airplane that is going to crash.

    Remember I told you at that time, both US and Europe will go through a severe ressesion? The Carrefort boycott was a preview. And that is why that French idiot had to eat all his BS and came to pay tribute in Olympics. Now your PM finally understood what she did the damage on your own country.

    The funny thing is that those East European countries boycotted Olympics. Let's how much money IMF can save them. :p

    There are plenty of autonomy in Tibet but NO room for indenpence. Exile Tibetans or Western governments can cry for next 20,000 years, and NOTHING will change.

    LOL. Regret? If this current Chinese government doesn't listen to Chinese people about this issue, they WILL regret for their own life.

    I don't think 80M Germans equal to the "world". Frankly, in International politics, your guys are NOBODY. A colony of USA. No more, no less.

    Really weird comment to my statement. Anybody checks it? Well, I don't...

    Hopefully you're not scatterbrained yet.

    Damn, you still haven't understood what the Dalai Lama stands for ... or you simply don't want.

    If there's "plenty of autonomy", I wonder why there was a riot some months ago.

    Wow, the "Chinese people" must be a pretty dangerous species...

    LOOOL.

    You're really so stupid to believe that only Germany cares for the Tibet issue? Haven't you seen all those protests all over the world when the Olympic torch went around? Who paid tribute to Chinese human rights activists who got jailed? Oh shame, it was the EU parliament which represents about 500 million people...

    With all due respect, you seem to be though.

    You still haven't understood, period.

    Please go back to your weekend beer party where you have gathered so much self-assurance on having more knowledge about Tibet than people who have lived through it for decades.

    Are you that dense? Thought we'd gone through that many times. A few extremists miscalculated after receiving what they thought was a go-ahead from that neo-nazi Merkel & Co, who was trying to hold the Olympics and the Chinese people's well intention hostage for a few political brownie points.

    Yeah, we're such a dangerous species we tried to purify our land during WWII by killing off 6 million of our own population because they were not part of the superior Chinese race. Oh wait.

    It's really funny when stupid people call others stupid and laugh very loud.

    The Brits are a lot smarter though. Too smart for the EU. :)

    But then again, why not? He who created the knot is the one most suitable to untie it. Until the Brits came along and tried to colonize China from the West side via Tibet, Tibet was never an issue. It was simply an undisputed part of the Chinese empire, as it had been for centuries.

    http://www.thestar.com/World/Columnist/article/535977
    Chinese government officials said flat out this week during a televised press conference that the Dalai Lama will "never" win the autonomy he seeks for Tibetans.

    But there was something decidedly different in their delivery.

    The normal Chinese defensiveness over its dealings with the Dalai Lama was gone.

    Demeaning references to the dastardly "Dalai clique"? Gone too. The usual over-the-top invectives, hectoring and virtual finger-wagging? All gone.

    Instead, Chinese officials seemed strong, sure-footed, even smug in reporting on recent talks with the Dalai Lama's representatives.
    ..............
    Experts note Tibetan hopes hinged on British foreign policy: Britain was the only Western power ever to have had official dealings and written agreements with the so-called "Roof of the World." London kept a government mission in the Tibetan capital of Lhasa for 15 years during the last century.

    Britain long made clear it would only recognize China's "special position" in Tibet if China granted Tibet significant autonomy.

    Now – that too is gone.

    On Oct. 29, Prime Minister Gordon Brown's government informed Parliament in a written statement that this previously held policy was "unusual," an "anachronism" and based on an "outdated concept."

    Britain announced it unconditionally recognizes China's absolute authority over Tibet.

    If not the BYD car, which electric car is the best on the market now, in your opinion? Is this best electric car the one you're plotting for?

    For Obama's agenda to happen, we'll need higher oil prices. A Detroit partially owned by the government doesn't hurt either.

    Only country China needs to work with is USA. For arrogant and ignorant Euro trash-talkers, a simply bird is good enough.

    After this economic crisis is over at 2015, yes, I predict a 7-10 years period in Europe and USA, China will emerge as the biggest economy. Making sure to put Europe in the sHIThouse that they belong. LOL.

    In the meanwhile, this is getting really boring.

    But well, it's the typical behaviour of persons who ran out of arguments...:rolleyes:

    What a shame for you that the US & also Russia will have so close ties to the "Euro trash-talkers" that you'll get nightmares! :p

    Oh, please don't scare me. Obviously, cheap insultings & boring threatening is all you have to offer...

    And now this, right after the recent abrupt change of Britain's China policy related to Tibet.

    Brown: Chinese may join Afghan mission
    British Prime Minister Gordon Brown has announced the possibility of Chinese forces joining the multinational coalition in Afghanistan.

    Gordon Brown is turning into some sort of ambassador of goodwill towards China. I wonder what's at play here behind the scene.

    However, with regard to this latest news, the question is, does China really want to send troops to Afghanistan?

    1. China already told Europe and US, if they need the financial help from China, they have to meet the certain conditions. China's conditions depends on the trustworth of specific countries. And China says that the April time since Lhasa riots to Olympic Opening, many of Western countries didn't show China they are worth of China's trust, which in turn pushing the prices of conditions much higher now.

    2. From this perspetive, you have to say that Americans are damn smart. I was wondering why Nancy Pelosi shut up very quickly after her visit, now we knew why. So if you put what British did now, and why Merkel asked for forgiveness in the private, you understand it is part of conditions.

    3. Europe already tried to bluff China about "we are in same boat, we sink that you are sinking too". China says that yes, we will surfer, but much less than you guys. The current plan that Sarkozy will meet Dalai Lama in Poland, is a revenge play because China didn't support EU's challenge to replace USA in G-20 meetings. So EU lost to alliance of USA-Japan about keeping USD not replacing by EURO. China stands aside on this fight.

    4. When USA pushes the small arm sale to Taiwan which caused a strong response from Chinese miliatry that almost toppled Mr. Wen who promised to help US. THe result is that US has to loose some high tech control on exporting to China to smooth the relationship. US also promised to not stir waters when China tried to build bilateral trade relationship with third party. As a result, you should see a LOT of China free trade agreements with some certain areas.

    For example, South China Sea regions, such as Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore. Australia will be raw materials of Hong Kong of China. Another areas, is the backyard of USA, Latin America.

    5. About China's anticipation in Afghanistan, it depends if NATO can reach a deal with Taliban who cuts their tie with Al Quada. Frankly, with the current crisis in USA, Bin Latin already acheved his goal.

    It will also depends on what Obama's plan on Pakistan that can negotiate with China. Afgan War has a lot to do with Chevron's holding in Caspian sea, but at the current condition, it is no longer that a big asset.

    I guess any time when Germans try to lecture people about Human Right, people will look on them, says--"Jews". :p

    What I read the German newspapers of German human right superiority, is no much difference as old Ayran racial superiority. If you picked up an old 1930s newspaper, I bet that it shows much similarity as today's.

    Tibet was used as a geopolitical issue to distablize China, and that is fine. But those idiots tried to frame it as a moral issue. Bunch of Nazis. LOL.

    Revenge play begets revenge play. A spectacular snub.
    http://www.google.com/hostednews/afp/article/ALeqM5jk16J7H6hQWAXDQyX4b5H7MLX2Aw
    China scrapped Wednesday a summit with the European Union scheduled for next week in protest at plans by EU leaders to meet the Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama.

    The spectacular diplomatic snub appeared to target French President Nicolas Sarkozy, whose country holds the EU's rotating presidency until the end of the year, who is due to meet the Dalai Lama in 10 days.

    EU, especially France, is engaging a war against US about the control of IMF and replacing USD with EURO as world currency. EU tried to get China's endorsement, but failed. So G-20 meeting, China stayed aside, and US/Japan alliance (with Japan gave IMF 100B) was able to hold the challenge by EU. So unhappy as they are, Dalai Lama is being used again to extract something out of China.

    By return China canceled the meeting, and also "delayed" the contract about Airbus. I think China should find ways to drive France and Germany businesses out of China's market all together. Those low-lives. :D

    It's probably time for China to start an investigation into the sufferings of the Corsica people at the hands of the French. A high level official reception of those brave freedom fighters of the Corsica independence movement would be a good start.

    Nothing. Europeans think that without them, the earth will explore. But the true fact is the most important relationship in the future is between US-China.

    With the way this economic crisis going, the global trade will go other direction and protectionism will start to show up, and the relationship between different countries will become less important.

    Europeans' problem is that they have NO guns, NO money, and they still think that they can blackmail others? LMAO.
