I'm pretty sure the El doesn't go anywhere near Bridgeview. You'll need to grab a cab or shuttle to the game most likely.
its just a mile or so away...kathie resurched it....we are staying at the group hotel on the forth so we can hang with everyone else.
Looks like Midway is as close as the El gets to bridgeview, which leaves you 5 or 6 miles short... but you can Bus it from there. There is a shuttle from Midway to the stadium, but it only runs 2 hrs before & 30 minutes after each match.
Actually it was floated, but at the time the guy wanted to plan it I wasn't sure how many were going. Sorry. I'm still waiting for contact from a guy from the Fire to help us out on getting a place to hang Monday night and Tuesday afternoon for the WC semi final. PM me your phone number if I do not already have it. That way I can relay any messages to you once we're in Chi-town I already have numbers for Chris, Stu, Mike. I know I need Gregs, Marks, Jason's for sure. Anyone else I'm forgetting please PM me as well.
Well, I got the list of "official" WC viewing places from the Fire. It sucked. They are all too far away from the stadium/airport for those of us that won't have cars. I'm wanting something closer to that area. I've taken down the information for a few places and will try to call them tomorrow.
The tickets are in! I will have them at the game on Saturday. I am leaving the game RIGHT after the final whistle, so you'll have to pick them up from me before the game if you want them before we get to Chicago.
Ok, with the help of The Blind Pig (aka Jim), a Fire fan, we have a place to go before the game. If you get a chance please thank Jim for his help, his advice came out of the blue so it is very much appreciated and he says this place is great. It's a Lithuanian place with great beer! (that got your attention didn't it???) Duke's Eatery and Deli 6312 S. Harlem Avenue Summit, IL 60501 Driving directions from the stadium to Duke's Driving directions from the hotel to the stadium I will call Duke's just to make sure they'll be open on July 4th. I will plan on being there by around 1PM Monday in time for the game and so people can find the place and pick up tickets from me.
Ben and Mark, if I am not there yet when you guys go into the stadium, Ben can you give my ticket to Mark to hold onto for me? I'll get it from him after the game. thanks.
I just spoke with Duke's, they said that they were planning on closing at 4pm on the 4th but would stay open until the end of the game for us. That means though that unless something changes they may want us to leave right after the game, which could be 4pm leaving 3 hours until the game. That should be fine, we can head toward the stadium at that point. I would bet if we're spending a lot of cash on beer, which knowing this group I bet we are, they won't exactly push us out the door. EVERYONE PLEASE TRY TO GO TO THIS PLACE I can't make any promises on how good it'll be, but at least they were nice enough to accomidate us. As always, if it sucks I bear no responsiblity.
Ok, everyone should have their tickets except for Jason and Kathie, Jared and Vic (from St. Louis). Jason and Kathie will meet us at the bar before the game. Jared, what about you? I've got your number I'll call you.
have fun guys and give 'em hell there in chitown. the holiday and midweek gameday prevented me from making the trip to chitown this year.
Very good question Mark. There are a bunch of bars around the hotel area, so let's use our cell network once we all hit the ground. Sound cool?
I'll be there MArk, I forgot I don't have to drive through down town tomorrow, because I am now living at my house. I just have to stop by my parents on the way out there tomorrow, but it's on the way, so we'll be good.
