After exhausting our options late last night, unfortunately the Chicago Red Stars will not be part of Women's Professional Soccer in 2011. We simply do not have sufficient funds and have not found enough new investors to allow us to commit to 2011. We know you are angry and disappointed. We are too. You are incredible fans. Our entire organization has been honored to serve you.

    That sucks.

Now let's talk about getting Megan Rapinoe, Casey Nogueira and Karina LeBlanc in Breaker Blue....

    Who needs defenders!!

Wow - the only original WPS teams that are left are us, Sky Blue, and the Freedom. (And who knows what's going to happen with the Freedom?) It's only been 2 seasons... and 4 teams have already dropped.

I'm really grateful that we have a fairly solid organization and top-notch staff here in Boston. Of course, none of that matters if we don't have teams to play against.
