We are at the point where we need to ask people we talk to, in real time, face to face, are they more concerned about getting the government to act in accordance with their faith, or have a nation that accommodates us all. Tens of millions of U.S. citizens are actively working to build a theocracy here, and many of them are not even, in a frontal lobe sense, aware of it. (Though lots are.) We need to make our fellow citizens own their position.
Christian fascism. Christian fascism is a far-right political ideology that denotes the intersection between fascism and Christianity, encompassing the fascistic, totalitarian, and imperialistic aspects of the Christian Church. It is sometimes referred to as "Christofascism". https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_fascism
The document is s certainly flawed, Yet brilliant, document. If the Democrats had set a handful of things into law when they had real, working majorities we wouldn't be having this discussion. They f%$ked. up and didn't.. The odds of coming up with an improved document now, given the Christofasists current strength are slim and none. Be careful what you ask for.
From what I've gathered so far you guys are saying with the current constitution as well as under a new drafted one you will inevitably end up in christofascism. Did I understand this/you right?
Any recommendations? https://ballotpedia.org/Democratic_Party_primaries_in_Illinois,_2022 https://www.illinoispolicy.org/maps/ Not much of a choice for my state senator and representative.
I lean pretty heavily on the "Girl, I Guess" progressive voter guide: https://docs.google.com/document/d/...review?pru=AAABgcwENsQ*FLsSEI6_WHtg_fDTeBuPdA for your District 7 race I'd vote Collins over Davis Kaegi over Steele is also my strong opinion
Incredible testimony by White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson. Damning evidence that Tr*mp knew exactly how bad things were, that the rioters were armed (and wanted the metal detectors to be removed to "let his people in"), and tried to grab the steering wheel of the Presidential limo to take him to the Capitol.
Watching the commentators on Fox News, during the break, basically saying "Man, his conduct...saying Pence deserves to be hung and he won't do a thing to prevent it? Yeah, you can't do that. That opens him up for indictment.", was delicious.
Darren Bailey represents some trash politics but I’ll take the small joy in watching Griffin’s $50M get crushed in the GOP primary $100M was spent on the race — just depressing
But Benito threw plates of salsa rubra against his walls. Only difference really. Regarding the Illinois Primary I am no longer registered there but I will be interested to see if Alexi Gianoullias (spelling?) can complete his reformed image attempt. I do NOT trust that guy and in fact one of the few times I voted for a Republican was for Mark Kirk against AG because of that shady savings and loan dealio back in 2010 for when Feds seized his family bank for lending $20M to mobsters. There has always been an air of entitlement with that guy that rubs me the wrong way as he pretends to wrap himself in the rhetoric of progressivism. Unfortunately the people have short memories.
genuinely interested in what you'd like to see reformed in the Secretary of State office feels like some modernization is long overdue, but I don't know that I recognize any corruption or incompetency in the White SOS administration
