some news on the other results:

    Joy, heartache and more caps

There were mixed emotions for Chelsea’s international players yesterday.

    Bosnia-Hersogovina 1 Denmark 1
Jesper Gronkjaer played all but the last five minutes as Denmark cruised into the Euro finals.

    France 5 Israel 0
William Gallas, like Marcel Desailly, was not fit enough to participate. France won all their Euro ’04 qualifiers.

    Germany 3 Iceland 0
First defeat for Iceland under captain Eidur Gudjohnsen, and the result allowed Scotland to pip them for the Play-off spot. Eidur played all 90 minutes.

Switzerland 2 Republic of Ireland 0
Heartbreak for Damien Duff. Ireland needed to win to progress. Damien played all 90 minutes.

    Turkey 0 England 0
Rio who? John Terry, chalking up another 90 minutes, is Sven-Goran Eriksson’s most used player this season. Frank Lampard was a substitute for the last three minutes. Wayne Bridge was an unused substitute. Joe Cole didn’t make the bench. England are through to the finals.

    FRIENDLY
    Romania 1 Japan 1

Adrian Mutu opened the scoring to notch his seven goal in his last six internationals.

    ON LOAN PLAYERS
    Finland 3 Canada 2

Mikael Forssell opened the scoring as Finland went three up in the first 20 minutes.

    Holland 5 Moldova 0
Boudewijn Zenden was an unused substitute.

(It's a good job CFC have a clause in Forssell's contract that won't allow him to play on Tuesday)
