These payments sometimes come from obligations that are still due. When players are sold, different percentages of his pass my be held by different people. Sometime agents own the player passes. I believe Vianense still was owed money from Braga and Benfica for Tiago, thus it gets passed along to the team who owns his rights. Believe me Chelsea would not just give money to them if it was not owed.
