I went to Gillette to see this with a bunch of us drunks.

Tailgate was good before the match. Plenty of beer, churico, sardines, clams, meat, etc.

Inside the stadium, already buzzed, we found a statue of EUSEBIO. A statue of Eusebio inside an American Football stadium, home of the three time Superbowl Champion, New England Patriots. Think about that.

As for the match, too buzzed to even begin a detailed account. Spent too much time laughing at the insults hurled toward Mourinho.

Portugeezer! will probably give you a better account.

    Post game tailgate was priceless!

"Listen to your daddy and do what he tells you." - Portugeezer! (Priceless)

Chelsea 1-0 AC Milan final score on a goal by Arjen Robben.

Any news on where Chelsea and Milan will be staying before they play at the Meadowlands?

thanks since I'll be bringing my 10-year old son all the way from Oklahoma for this game!

There is none of Tom Brady (yet) or any other Patriot or athelete at the stadium. There is one of Eusebio. That shows you something.

I don't see them building statues of anyone from Porto outside of the Skydome. On second thought, what player from Porto was legendary enough to have a statue built in his honor oustide of Portugal?

    Here is your idol:

Now do your duty and cross the border and have your picture taken with it.

met Mourinho, P. Ferreira, R. Carvalho, Tiago and Lampard on Monday night. What a bunch of nice guys (specially Mourinho and Lampard). Mourinho actually sat down w/ me and my wife in the hotel lobby and chatted w/ us for a good 5 minutes  ... All hotel personnel claims that Mourinho is the the nicest person, down to earth and very funny.
I'll give you all some more info. on some of the things he said some time tonight, hopefully...

Why did you start talking about Porto? Someone makes a comment about Tom Brady and that apparently means they're saying Porto are a better club etc, etc.

Honestly, it gets a little old after the 500th time.

    1. WHAT THEY'RE SAYING

"It's a 'Rocky' kind of story -- us against the world. This is the biggest underdog I've ever been in my life. They're clearly better players but, for one night, it's the chance of a lifetime for us.''
-- Chicago defender Jim Curtin on the Fire's Wednesday night friendly against AC Milan (live on Gol TV, 9 pm ET/6 pm PT). (Chicago Sun-Times)

So ...I'm speaking with the man who spoke to the 'man'. Yeah, there just like real people. All you gotta do is find some common ground - something in common, then talk away.

Mourinho and Lamps would of been awesome too ask questions of.

Lots of Portuguese influence in New England obviously. There's been other great internationals from England, Netherlands, Denmark, Spain, Italy, France, Brazil, yet we don't see any statues of them. Forca Portugal...Forca Portugueses.

I still don't understand why a Eusebio statue at Gillette Stadium...that's like having a statue of Babe Ruth at Alvalade...:D
