yeah you're right in that he should never be guaranteed a spot. competition for starting spots is what keeps players improving. i'm just saying that, with all goalkeepers healthy, almunia would be my first choice

whoever is good at the moment for me...

Almunia is not in form... Mannone is... keep Mannone in... this isnt a class vs. form argument because their is no difference in their class

Wenger isn't resting anyone. Looks like he wants to qualify for the next stage before resting anyone.

Which is the way to go I think. Mentioned earlier we face Liverpool and Chelsea a couple days after our last 2 group stage ties.

Wow... I don't mind Mannone to start this game but I think it will give Almunia a serious thought about his starting spot.

This looks right, given the injuries. I would like to see Fab and Arshavin get a rest at the end if we have it wrapped up, with Ramsey and JFW coming in. Maybe give Song or Gallas a rest at the end, as well.

I'll never understand why Eboue keeps moving further and further up the field. We have two wingers that are dying for a game on the bench, but we put a defender up top who plays well everywhere except in the final third. Oh well. Good luck Eboue - lets' get a hatrick and earn your pay check.

Eboue brings good cover on the right side for Sagna, and gives us pace

    a. There is plenty of experience already on the field.
    b. The bulk of the defensive burden isn't really on our forwards.

Anyway, I'm off to the bar to watch the game. Go Reds!

Im talking defense compared to Wilshere/Vela.... You surely cant compare the defense and tracking back of Eboue to those 2. It isnt on our forwards but it is more balanced if our forwards can track back.
