Gonna be a great week for watching Dutchies play in Europe. Tomorrow we got Barca-Ferencvaros and PSG-United. Wednesday we got Ajax-Liverpoop and Midtland-Atalanta. And thursday we got Napoli-AZ, PSV-Granada and Zagreb-Feyenooit. I wont be leaving the house all week
Does anybody understand Solksjaer?? He benches Pogba and vdBeek in one of their biggest CL games against PSG
He is really a bad trainer who has no clue about personnel or tactics. I cannot understand how he has stayed this long.
It worked out for him because they won the game and Fernandes was excellent, but the score could have gone either way. I watched both games on split screen and Frenkie was good as well. But its Ferencvaros so its not a good barometer
Dont think VDBeek can bench fernandes. Progba is still not 100%. Fred and Mac tomminay both are very underrated midfielders but they do the job required.
Van de Beek has done well each time he comes from the bench and often turned games around. It almost feels like Pogba has to play because of his price tag and wages, and Fernandes has of course Mendes working on his behalf. Fernandes is great too, though.
Incredible victory for AZ at Napoli. Without lots of players due to COVID and they win! On the other end of the spectrum-- another total zero performance from PSV in Europe.
Other than the one year when PSV had a good CL run they have been horrible in Europe. Congrats to AZ!
PSV hasnot been expressing expectations for the first few months, as what Schmidt and PSV as playstyle want (covid interrupted a dedicated preparation) cannot be achieved within short time. I don't think they take Derksen very seriously in Eindhoven.
The Napoli-AZ match was really strange, a very boring performance by AZ that had only few occasions, but won. Concerning the players i was following: Koopmeiners was good, Wijndal was so so, Stengs was awful.
I'm not going to make judgements on the play of AZ or the players in this match. AZ had 13 players out because of covid, so any cohesian in the team is gone. I really think the gouvernments should call a ban on across boarder matches this and maybe even next month. It's stupid and only serves the wallet of the UEFA.
From what I watched, Stengs was playing as a 9 which really isn't his strength. He looked really tired (I watched the 2nd half). Someone said it in another thread but really AZ might be the key for the NT. Boadu, Stengs, Wijndal all could be really key players in the Euros then WC. I really like Koopmeiners too. I think a midfield of him and Frenkie could be awesome.
Make it 3! I just tuned in and the call against Biljow was a total joke. The keeper parried the ball away; how can that be a PK call? EDIT: I hope there are some clips to post offer on the referee thread.
