Re: CONCACAF Quarterfinal - Dynamo v. Atlante Have you got a hotel yet? I'm wondering how hard it will be to get a room during early spring break. and how expensive. I'm planning on the same dates.
Re: CONCACAF Quarterfinal - Dynamo v. Atlante Haven't looked for a hotel yet - but Continental has some deals available.
Re: CONCACAF Quarterfinal - Dynamo v. Atlante http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/soc/6170211.html Also, I'm booking 3/3-3/8 right now. We're landing a little before noon and we're staying at one of the resorts. If the game is indeed Tuesday night, then we could hit Chichen Itzen as a group on Wednesday, eh?
Re: CONCACAF Quarterfinal - Dynamo v. Atlante I'll be there. I want to hoist a Dynamo flag from the top of a pyramid, and play a little soccer on the ball court...
Re: CONCACAF Quarterfinal - Dynamo v. Atlante So me and the Mrs are going down for the game -Anyone know where the best places to stay are? - and where is the stadium? First timers to Mexico...
Re: CONCACAF Quarterfinal - Dynamo v. Atlante Check out the continental website for hotels there are lots - beach is probably the nicest place to stay - the stadium is in the city - only a couple of years old
Re: CONCACAF Quarterfinal - Dynamo v. Atlante they won't let you climb the pyramids anymore. too much damage. oh boy. first time in Mexico and you're going to a soccer stadium. that's not gatorade they're throwing at you.
Re: CONCACAF Quarterfinal - Dynamo v. Atlante I'm working on my reservations today. I was afraid I could not go because of busy season at work but this game is falling perfectly for an opportunity for me to go. Might still have to cancel, but I'm going to make reservations. Is everyone flying in day-of-game and staying till the weekend? I was looking to fly-in the Saturday before and stay and leave Wednesday. I was hoping we could get a Monday night party up on the island.
Re: CONCACAF Quarterfinal - Dynamo v. Atlante The Prawn Sandwich Brigade (Ultras) will be flying in on Monday the 2nd and out on Friday the 6th.
Re: CONCACAF Quarterfinal - Dynamo v. Atlante We went to that Chicken Issa place last time we were there. Being a typical knowitall - I rented a jeep and drove from Cancun ignoring the warning that travel during darkness was not recommended. We came back when it was dark and "holy crap" talk about white knuckle driving over unimproved roads in total darkness. It was an experience. I think that this time we are going to hit Tulum with it's Caribbean vistas. p.s. Do you have any special song that you'd like to go with your Tony Caig appreciation video?
Re: CONCACAF Quarterfinal - Dynamo v. Atlante I've always wanted to go to Tulum, but I have to go to Chichen Itzá too... and I have to hit the beach and talk to the European women. So much to do. I'm planning on going Monday, back Friday, if I can get permission today. Wish me luck.
Re: CONCACAF Quarterfinal - Dynamo v. Atlante Actually, the winners earned the honor of being deemed worthy of sacrifice to the gods. So, have fun.
Re: CONCACAF Quarterfinal - Dynamo v. Atlante During the Northeast's spring break? I hope you don't mind coming out on a GGW video.
I don't think this has been posted, but if it was....my bad. Atlante's website is saying the game will be March 3rd. http://www.atlantefc.com.mx/noticia.php?idnoticia=182
Re: CONCACAF Quarterfinal - Dynamo v. Atlante if you're planning to edit all his mistakes into one endless loop, how about this one:
Re: CONCACAF Quarterfinal - Dynamo v. Atlante I did the spring break in Cancun thing in college, and for anyone who is going down there, you need to be prepared for the police state the hotels become at that time of year. They have armed guards on every floor, checking id's every time you go in or out, and generally just being menaces. Don't expect the typical service you would from a nice hotel.
There has been a lot of talk from people in different phases of preparations for going down there. Let's start a headcount, along with the dates you will be there and whether you have already bought tickets, or still shopping your options. This will accomplish several things. It will help those of us who are going figure out what days we need to schedule extra-curricular activities, such as Chichen Itza, and it will help us figure out how many tickets we'll be looking to buy for the actual game. 1. Hungryjack (3/3 - 3/8, tickets purchased) 2. Mrs. Hungryjack (3/3 - 3/8, tickets purchased) 3. Hungryjack's dad (3/3 - 3/7, tickets purchased) 4. ???
I'm getting my tickets today so I'll add my name to the list later. I'm going Monday-Friday. I was wondering where everybody was staying. This morning I found some pretty good deals on beachfront hotels I think but I haven't got one yet. I don't really want to be in a Spring Break hotel if I can help it, I had enough of that when we lived at South Padre.....
We're looking at staying in one of the resort hotels like the Hilton - probably not too many spring breakers there.
