New songs need to be sung and practiced in the parking lot before the game. People should have heard it 5 or 6 times before going into the stadium. Watch the Argies and see how much they practice a chant before the game. We should only aim for one or two new chants per game.

Per GAME???? BZZZZZZZ!!!!! Wrong answer. :)

I think 2-5 new chants per YEAR is a LOT.

so, to speed along the process, what's on the docket for this week?

i'm going to go ahead and suggest we hurry up and learn one for either trujillo or lopez, and i don't know what our decisions were for that.

I don't think he meant 1-2 per game every game, just not trying to introduce more than 1-2 new chants/songs at a single game. I think he's right on.

Also, I think practicing at the tailgate is an excellent suggestion. That way, everybody knows what to expect.

The one's we have for each on the chant sheet are:

to the tune of you are my sunshine
Claudio Lopez
Claudio Lopez
You make us happy when skies are gray
And when it's pouring you just keep scoring
Please don't take our Lopez away

And for Trujillo
Rufio from hook

Trujillo, Trujillo,
Leaders: Tru-Hee
Everyone: OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

So I guess people should start learning those 2 at least.

Ah, I read it wrong, but I was just joking around anyway.

I do like the tailgate practice deal though.

here's the rufio video again so we can make it recognizable:

so it's:
Trujillo!

Trujill-O!
Trujill-O!

Tru-jill-OOOOOOOOOOOHHH!
Hey!
OOOOOOOOOOOHHHH!

Tru-jill-OOOOOOOOOOOHHH!

do you think the exact pattern is too hard to remember?

That has been mentioned several times in the past. Spoon and I talked about it for this season as well. Unfortunately, the weather at the first tailgate kind of threw everyone off their game plan a bit. It is certainly something we should try and do at upcoming tailgates.

Why not? I think it sounds better plural.

i think it makes it more confusing. its easier when the song is almost the same as the original.

I can see that. But when you get a large group together singing it, the my's and the our's will blend together anyways.

It might be easier to go with the quicker version that I posted, but either will work in my opinion.

Being a group instead of just one person singing it, plural sounds better, IMO.

Best player chant ever if we could pull this off. That is unless we get someone on the team with a name of shaka zulu

I'm a little confused. When exactly are we supposed to shout, "Kill the lawyer"?

There might be a learning curve, but at least we'll get good participation. ;)
