Totally off-topic, and apropos of nothing, but: I was reading this article about the youth movement in golf. They're talking about whether Michelle Wie (the 15-year-old) should be playing against pro competition (male and female) or not. There's a Freddy reference about 8-9 paragraphs down. I just thought it was interesting how awareness of his story has spread so easily into mainstream sports consciousness. (The writer seems pretty aware of the situation.)
Here's an article spawned from the NBA draft in the Rocky Mountain News http://www.rockymountainnews.com/drmn/nuggets/article/0,1299,DRMN_20_3893529,00.html The point is the draftee comes from a jocks-only high school where Maria Sharapova and Freddy Adu got their schooling.
